General manager Jon Eric Sullivan and head coach Jeff Hafley are ready to embark on their first NFL free agency as a tandem, but not before they continue to make last-minute decisions on the team’s current roster and impending free agents.

The Miami Dolphins made their latest signing earlier today, re-signing a player fans have watched develop – for better or worse – over the last three seasons in Miami. According to the team’s official site, the Dolphins have re-signed outside linebacker Cameron Goode.

The former 7th-round draft pick (224th overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft has appeared in 37 career games with Miami, with just one start over the past three seasons. In total, Goode has recorded 29 tackles (19 special teams), two quarterback hits, and a pass breakup. He will now hope to continue developing in Miami Gardens, this time under a defensive-minded head coach, Jeff Hafley, and the hand of the king, Sean Duggan.

Re-signing a player like Goode, who put up solid numbers during his time at California (170 tackles, 21 sacks, two interceptions, two forced fumbles, and 15 pass breakups), is exactly what Miami has to do in 2026. The dead cap is no joke, and bringing in a guy that showed even a glimmer of potential is not a bad idea.

TLDR: They need bodies

Which is crazy, because at one point, Miami’s pass-rushers were one of the team’s strengths. But after jettisoning Jalean Phillips to the Philadelphia Eagles, cutting ties with Bradley Chubb, and Chop Robinson’s sophomore slump, it’s quickly become a huge area of need.

The Dolphins will likely draft a few pass-rushers in next month’s draft, but for now, the team will rely on in-house options, which now include Cameron Goode.

What are your thoughts on the Miami Dolphins re-signing Cameron Goode? Are there any other players you expect the team to re-sign in the coming days? Do you think Goode can become anything more than a special teams player? Let us know in the comments section below!
