This past week, we saw our Miami Dolphins begin their roster purge by cutting four players. Most assume that we are headed towards a full rebuild. With that in mind, I asked the following question last week:

Which players currently on the roster, whom you believe have tradable value, would you like to see the team attempt to trade away once the league year begins on March 11th?

Below are some of your thoughts and answers-

StanleyDoyle1 gave a list of players whom he believes hold trade value.

You won’t contend in 2026 or 2027, so you build the foundation for 2028. The only players you should plan on keeping are rookies and Patrick Paul. Other than that, there are only 5 players anyone would trade for:

1. Waddle (for a low 1 or two 2s)

2. Achane (for a 2)

3. Robinson (for a 3)

4. Fitzpatrick (for a 3)

5. Sieler (for a 3 and a 5)

Jptapt wants to see players traded to add to the list of draft picks.

I would trade Achane and Fitzpatrick for draft

picks, and of course Tua if you can manage to find a team. I think it would take at least 30 million and a 2nd round pick, a la Osweiler.

I am all about collecting as many picks as possible, particularly 3rd and 4th. These guys are supposed to be pros at finding talent there, so let’s see what they can do. Build a cheap young team and clear the cap for 2027.

Louie the lobster believes that the only two players with trade value should be held onto.

Reading the title of this post, I was interested in seeing what Dolphins players would like to see their teammates traded. But seriously, the only players that have good trade value are Achane and Waddle. Since I’m still planning on watching every game next season, I would like them to keep and extend Achane.

Francesco ITA questions if Waddle deserves to be paid as a top-10 receiver. Seems like a very legit question.

I think Waddle should be in the options as well

– he will turn 28 this year so he will be 30 for when we will be able to compete (maybe)

– His cap numbers for next years are as a top 10 WR… Is he a top 10 WR ? For potential and stats he is close but does he have that clutch abilities, that “count on me”, that game breaking abilities that an almost 35 mil/season player should have ?

I know he is hard to trade for cap reasons but is a reset year

SlayerNation1 is ready to see the new regime prove they are who they say they are.

Total Rebuild + Talent Evaluator GM = Trade Everyone to highest bidder

… simple formula

Achane coming off ProBowl will never be worth more despite wanting a contract, let someone else take that gamble.

Waddle, like all WR2s, is easily replaceable in the draft.

Minkah, aged and miserable, get anything You can.

The GM’s calling card states “Talent Evaluator”, so We have been told. Let’s put that to the test.

MiamiItaliano says to move our star RB for a first-round pick.

Achane for a first

scrwal says that we might be able to trade Tua if we sweeten the pot.

I would trade anyone if the price was right.

Although the perception that Tua is untradeable you could chuck in Achane or Waddle on the understanding that we don’t pay any money plus we could get a low 2027 pick. If it’s Waddle it’s cap neutralish, with Achane then it’s a $16.5M saving – all trades are pre June 1 so you get out of the cap nightmare now.

JUK is down to Fitzpatrick.

I’d trade anyone for an Tunsil like offer but realistically Achane is the only one other than Minkah you could trade and I wouldn’t:

Can anyone answer who the last RB was to get a first rounder back in a trade? Answer at the end of the post, but it was in 2013. We won’t get a fair return for Achane so let’s not bother.Waddle’s cap hit more than doubles if we trade him.I’d trade Austin Jackson for pretty much any compensation but doubt he has a market, and Tua as well. So that leaves Minkah and that’s it.

Trent Richardson!

AussieFin1 says the biggest question is what to do with Tua.

Minkah is the only one worth trading. The rest of our “good” players make no sense unless someone is desperate and wants someebody. What we do with Tua is THE 1 and only question – trade cut or keep. All of these answers have an element of BAD about them. The biggest issue we have is the amount of Dead Cap which currently is $73 million which is like a report card from previous management.

davidson11 wonders about trading the previous HC.

I wonder if they could have gotten a 7th from the Chargers for Mike McDaniel.

Dr.Greenthumb is afraid that if they keep Achane, the team will be too good.

Achane – if he stays on the team he could single handedly play us out of a top 5 draft pick. His timeline doesn’t match ours, crazy to say about a 24 year old

Dolfanjoe wants to see the team work towards earning the top pick in the draft.

How we can part with any of theses players is beyond me ! After winning all these super bowls with these players, they should be kept forever, and statues be erected next to Dan’s.

Keep Paul unless you get a Tunsil trade ! The rest you can move on from. Draft a team and start over. 1200 to choose from on cutdown day and raid practice squads all year long ! 26 is the year of the reset. Battle for the # 1 pick in 27 and move on from there !

Ejplaya says to trade our good players, but only for the right price.

It’s tough because we get attached to these guys. You have to look at it as a business and not emotional. With that in mind we should likely trade achane, waddle, and minkah assuming we get good value. Don’t really want to do that though. They have been fun to watch.

heatforlife says it would be so much better going forward if Tua were a starting-caliber QB.

what would have been if that weak armed hawaiian was the real deal.this is mostly on the tatooed hawaiian.if he could have become a good to great qb we’d have something to look forward to.its gonna be a hard watch for years to come .i hate total rebuilds unless my coach is don shula.no experience as a hc and no roster ucch.no guarantees this works either.tough times here but im a shula guy so im good to go.what a disgrace this org under stevies watch

TheRoo1 believes that many of the moves will actually happen during the draft. Makes sense!

I’m not sure how much will happen now versus later. We could see a livestock auction, but I have a feeling much of it will happen at the draft when deals often must be struck in a matter of minutes, how well Sully and staff can maneuver and think on their feet will quickly show.

Well, that’s our random 15 comments for this evening. If you missed our original question post, you can see the rest of the comments along with the full conversation HERE. The range of opinions was all over the place, but quite a few of you believed that our only real value guys were Achane, Waddle, and Fitzpatrick. It does seem unlikely that all three will still be on the roster come September. As always, I would like to thank each of you who took the time to join in on our question of the day post.
