In our quest to make you, our readers, the most informed fans of the Minnesota Vikings that we can, we have crafted a resource that will help you to track down the results of any Vikings game from any point in their history.
Ladies and gentlemen, we bring you Minnesota Vikings Scorigami.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the concept of Scorigami, it is a term coined by SB Nation’s own Jon Bois a number of years ago. It is defined as the art of building a final score that has never been achieved before in the history of the National Football League. The last league-wide Scorigami that the Vikings were involved in was not a positive one for them, as it was their 52-33 loss to the New Orleans Saints on Christmas Day in 2020. That was the first time in league history there had ever been a 52-33 final score, hence making it a Scorigami.
The above chart, rather than accounting for the entire league, shows just the 1,056 games in Minnesota Vikings history. All 567 victories, all 478 losses, and all 11 ties, including playoffs. You can mouse over any of the squares on the grid and you’ll see a pop up with how many times that score occurred and in what years. Playoff games are annotated with a separate icon. If a square is blacked out, it means that score combination has not occurred at any point in franchise history.
This page is also available on its own in its own Github repository. Going forward, it will update after every Vikings game. It might take a day or two, but it will self-update. We will also find a way to pin it onto the main page so that it is always available.
The idea of Scorigami is kind of cool, and now we have our own version just for our favorite team. I hope that you find this useful or entertaining in some way.
