Tonight, we have the unfortunate duty to bring you devastating news about a member of the Minnesota Vikings.
Rondale Moore, who spent this past season with the Vikings on injured reserve, has passed away at the age of 25. The cause of death has not immediately been disclosed.
Moore was a standout athlete at Purdue University, where he received the Big Ten Freshman of the Year and Receiver of the Year Awards, along with Consensus All-American honors, in 2018. That led to him being drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, and he scored his first touchdown against the Vikings on a 77-yard pass from Kyler Murray in a Cardinals’ victory over Minnesota.
After three seasons with Arizona, Moore was traded to the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for quarterback Desmond Ridder. He then suffered a season-ending knee injury and was placed on injured reserve.
Ahead of the 2025 season, Moore signed with the Vikings as a free agent. He only took the field for one play for the Vikings, a punt return in the team’s preseason opener, and suffered another knee injury that put him on injured reserve, ending his season.
Just terrible news for the NFL community as a whole this evening. 25 is simply far too young to leave this world.
We at The Daily Norseman want to send our condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Rondale Moore on the news of his passing.
