Giants news, 2/14: Coaching staff announced, Cor’Dale Flott, more

Good morning, New York Giants fans!

Exclusive: Eli Manning on Jaxson Dart, Giants’ Draft Needs, and Drew Brees’ Hall of Fame Honor | Sportsboom.com

Manning said that he would like to see the Giants prioritize adding a receiver to complement Malik Nabers this offseason, whether it be in free agency or with the No. 5 pick in the NFL Draft.

“I definitely agree that they probably need a true No. 2 to go with Malik Nabers,” said Manning. “Some of the best offenses are doing that. I don’t know if they need to do that in the draft, or it kind of depends on free agency. I wouldn’t mind if there’s a good free-agent receiver that could be that No. 2 — kind of that 1B almost…For Nabers to have that veteran guy, who’s had success and knows what to do and how to get open and just kind of some of those little nuances to be an elite receiver, I think that would be helpful for him.”

Harbaugh: We are going to fight like my teams did in Baltimore

How will new coach John Harbaugh reshape the roster? Harbaugh is running the show, as evidenced by the team’s fresh reporting structure. He will tweak the roster to his desires. With that come some significant roster decisions on whether to re-sign free agents Wan’Dale Robinson, Jermaine Eluemunor and Cor’Dale Flott, or cut middle linebacker Bobby Okereke ($9 million in cap savings). Also, how will the Giants reshape their offensive line and find another playmaker to supplement WR Malik Nabers? There is lots of work to do. They didn’t go 7-27 over the past two seasons by accident.

Ranking 18 NFL teams that missed the playoffs: Who’s most likely to rebound in 2026? | The Athletic

13. New York Giants (4-13). The Giants start anew with John Harbaugh, and the long-time head coach brings instant credibility to a franchise long lost in the wilderness, having been through six head coaches (including two interim) and having just two playoff appearances since their last Super Bowl victory, which capped the 2011 season. New York has a number of talented, young pieces, including quarterback Jaxson Dart and wide receiver Malik Nabers. But it still might take some time for the Giants to round into a playoff team.

Giants’ Andrew Thomas defends Will Campbell after Super Bowl LX meltdown | USAToday.com

“Playing this position with so much expectation isn’t easy as a rookie,” Thomas told NFL insider Jordan Schultz. “Give [Campbell] time to adjust to the game and improve his technique. People labeled me a bust, but I just needed more time to develop. He is made of the right stuff. You can tell he loves the game. He was playing with a brutal injury. He will get better. Just have some patience.”

Latest NFL Rumors on Jaxson Dart, Patrick Mahomes Discussions About Matt Nagy After Giants Contract | Bleacher Report

Jaxson Dart did a lot of research on Matt Nagy as he prepares to take over as offensive coordinator for the New York Giants. Per ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, Dart spoke with Patrick Mahomes on “multiple occasions” to get a feel for what it’s like to work with Nagy and “came away impressed.”

Speaking to reporters during Super Bowl week festivities, Dart also said he talked to Travis Kelce about Nagy. “Travis didn’t have anything but tremendous things to say about Coach Nags,” Dart said.

John Harbaugh sits down with the Sports Pope

The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York has concluded that all claims will be litigated in open court. The ruling means that the Flores claims against the NFL, the Dolphins, the Giants, the Broncos, and the Texans will be handled in court, not arbitration. It also applies to the claims made by Steve Wilks against the Cardinals, and by Ray Horton against the Titans.

Friday’s decision flows from last year’s ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, which denied arbitration as to the remaining Flores claims based on the NFL’s insistence that Commissioner Roger Goodell control the process. That same “fatal flaw” (as Judge Valerie Caproni described it) impacts all efforts to compel arbitration.
