Good morning, New York Giants fans!

Other Giant observations
This revelation — that even a playoff victory wouldn’t have saved Harbaugh’s job — raised questions about when exactly Bisciotti had made his decision.
Harbaugh responded philosophically: “If we’ have won four games and won the Super Bowl after that, I’m pretty sure I’d still be there right now. I don’t know. That’d be my guess. But it didn’t happen that way. So, it doesn’t matter, you know, and again, I understand completely the thinking behind it. And, you know, it’s all good…I’m not saying I didn’t want to stay because I did. I love the players. I love everybody in that organization. I’ll always be grateful for every player, every coach, every person on that staff… I’ll miss that. But you know what? Those relationships aren’t going away either. So, on to the next thing for everybody.”
Sneaky good trajectory. The hope for a quick turnaround: Several head coaches experienced fast success in 2025, and John Harbaugh will try to do the same with a Year 1 turnaround in 2026. The Giants’ roster is reaching respectable levels of talent after a few down years. Quarterback Jaxson Dart is a selling point. The defensive line is among the league’s most talented. And receiver Malik Nabers will return from ACL and meniscus tears.
Why it might take longer than hoped: The Giants must shake their losing culture. New York has won more than six games just once in the past nine seasons. The shift might not happen overnight. The supporting casts on both sides of the ball haven’t been good enough in recent years. That has to change.
Worst To First: Ranking the eight last-place NFL teams by chances of winning their division in 2026 | PFF
3. New York Giants. Similar to the Saints, the Giants enter 2026 with a second-year quarterback who showed encouraging signs as a rookie. Jaxson Dart’s 68.4 PFF overall grade ranked 27th among quarterbacks, but his 76.9 PFF rushing grade placed seventh, highlighting the dual-threat element he brings to the offense. New York also fielded one of the league’s most improved offensive lines, particularly in pass protection. The unit ranked third in the NFL in 2025 with an 87.6 PFF pass-blocking efficiency rating after surrendering just 15 sacks all season. Much of that improvement stemmed from left tackle Andrew Thomas staying healthy, as he eclipsed 800 regular-season snaps for only the second time since his 2020 rookie campaign. Thomas rewarded that availability with an 87.2 PFF pass-blocking grade, third among all offensive tackles.
The arrival of John Harbaugh as head coach should further raise the team’s floor. If Dart takes a meaningful sophomore leap, regains his top target in Malik Nabers and continues to benefit from strong offensive line play, the Giants’ offense could take a significant step forward. Combine that with the wide range of potential outcomes for the other three teams in the division, and New York has a legitimate path to competing for a division title.
The biggest offseason needs for all 32 NFL teams: QBs, WRs and pass rush help? | The Athletic
Offensive line: Wait, the Giants’ offensive line finally progressed to competent in 2025. How can this still be the team’s No. 1 need?! Well, now is not the time for the Giants to get complacent. The veterans of the right side of the offensive line — tackle Jermaine Eluemunor and guard Greg Van Roten — are free agents, while position coach Carmen Bricillo has followed Brian Daboll to the Titans. Aside from stud left tackle Andrew Thomas (when healthy), the Giants don’t have any cornerstone pieces on their offensive line. They need to continue investing in the position that has the greatest impact on quarterback Jaxson Dart’s development.
Carl Banks: Tae Banks will produce for Giants in 2026
3. Jaxson Dart, QB, Ole Miss. Original pick: Abdul Carter, EDGE, Penn State. I’ll stick with Jaxson Dart as the Giants’ pick as long as he learns how to slide and get out of bounds when he runs. Dart showed lots of promise, posting a high completion rate for a rookie while playing consistently and taking care of the ball.
25. Upton Stout, CB/Nickel, Western Kentucky Drafted: No. 100 overall (Round 3) by 49ers. Original pick: Jaxson Dart, QB, Ole Miss. The Giants’ secondary was a problem all season, allowing over 26 points per game. Upton Stout lacks size but is ultra-competitive and made an impact in San Francisco’s physical secondary.
5. New York Giants. Grade: A-. Three of the Giants’ first four picks were essentially starting by the end of September. And all three of those players are fun. But they’re also scary. Allow me to explain each situation individually …
ABDUL CARTER. The fun part: The edge blur led the entire league with 48 quick pressures (under 2.5 seconds, per Next Gen Stats). The scary part: Carter was benched twice for behavior that Dexter Lawrence termed “hard-headed,” with the three-time Pro Bowler imploring his young teammate to “just grow up, really.”
JAXSON DART. The fun part: His dual-threat ability and undeniable swagger, both of which were on full display in New York’s shocking prime-time beatdown of Philadelphia. The scary part: His proud refusal to protect himself, causing frequent trips to the blue tent in Year 1 while raising serious concerns about his long-term viability.
CAM SKATTEBO. The fun part: A fearless play style that’s as infectious as his animated personality, with bell-cow ability as a runner and receiver. The scary part: A gnarly leg injury — dislocated ankle, fractured fibula and ruptured deltoid ligament — that ended his rookie campaign before Halloween, only increasing doubts about the NFL shelf life of his gutsy game.
Worst-Case Scenario for Every NFL Team’s Offseason | Bleacher Report
New York Giants Fail to Reload the Offensive Line. New York’s line took a positive step in 2025, finishing the season ranked ninth overall by Pro Football Focus. However, the Giants could use upgrades at left guard and center, and they could potentially lose right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor, who is an impending free agent.
The Giants can’t afford to allow their offensive line collapse this offseason. Keeping Dart upright and opening holes for Cam Skattebo and the ground game will be keys to New York’s offensive success. Re-signing Eluemunor would be a strong first step, but New York shouldn’t stop there.
