NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport appeared on NFL Gameday on Sunday morning to talk about some offseason topics concerning Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals.
Stating the obvious, Rapoport first said, “I do not expect Joe Burrow to be traded, but I do expect teams to call the Cincinnati Bengals.”
Rapoport went on to say, “I do expect them to take his words to kind of spur them on a bit, to really spend this offseason.” He expects that spending will primarily occur on the defensive side of the ball.
“I expect them to enhance and support everything Joe Burrow does, to spend probably more on the defense than anything else,” said Rapoport.
That is the expectation of the Bengals fan base as well. They could look to upgrade at every level of the defense this offseason. Adding proven veteran talent will open up things for the 2026 NFL Draft.
Rapoport didn’t elaborate on positions or players that may interest the Bengals, but who do you feel are prime targets for the Bengals to attempt to acquire in order to upgrade the defensive side of the ball?
Here’s to hoping we’re in for a busy offseason that sees the Bengals make the kind of upgrades that will get them back into Super Bowl contention!
