Other Giant observations
NFC East door could swing open for Giants with Jeff Stoutland leaving Eagles | New York Daily
The door could be cracked open to the Giants competing again soon in the NFC East if they do their part.
But Stoutland’s departure doesn’t just eliminate a great coach from Philly’s staff. It also reveals dysfunction in the City of Brotherly Love that could create more of a downtown for the team. Stoutland’s departure from Philly is one of several signs and developments in the past months that should begin to level the playing field, though. Now it’s just up to the Giants to get and stay healthy and get better players themselves.
Jaxson Dart is tired of the ‘his playing style has to change’ narrative
A pair of Giants rookies were on the ballots for Thursday night’s NFL Honors ceremony, with quarterback Jaxson Dart placing fourth for Offensive Rookie of the Year and edge rusher Abdul Carter coming in fifth for Defensive Rookie of the Year.
While Dart didn’t take home OROY honors, getting beat out by heavy-favorite Carolina Panthers wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan, he did manage to receive one first-place vote for his inspiring first season in the NFL. Carter lost DROY to Cleveland Browns linebacker Carson Schwesinger, who combined for 156 tackles, 2.5 sacks, nine passes defended and two interceptions. Schwesinger, drafted in the second round (No. 33 overall), received 40 first-place votes.
Giants star reveals injury update | NJ.com
Giants star receiver Malik Nabers appears to be making positive progress in his return from a season-ending knee injury.
Nabers told ESPN’s Jordan Raanan that his rehab has been “phenomenal.” “He did in fact have a full meniscus repair in addition to ACL surgery in October. That explains the crutch + brace he was wearing last month,” Raanan wrote on X. “Typically full meniscus repair does add to recovery timeline.”
5. New York Giants: Jermod McCoy, Tennessee, CB, Junior. McCoy tore his ACL in January 2025 (he missed all of last season), so we’ll have to see how his medical evaluations turn out during the draft process (including at the NFL Scouting Combine). But my model loves his potential and upside: He has the highest rating for a true press corner in this year’s class. Also, at just 20 years old, he’s two years younger than my No. 2 rated corner, Mansoor Delane.
Drew Lock, Tommy DeVito reunite at Super Bowl 2026 after Giants bromance that ‘never faded’ | New York Post
As Sam Darnold and Drake Maye shared an interview stage for all the world to see at Super Bowl opening night, two other opposing quarterbacks tried to meet up in a dimly lit corner of the convention center.
The bromance between Drew Lock and Tommy DeVito stood the test of a mismanaged Giants depth chart to come out the other side in Super Bowl LX. And New York Giants fans have Lock to thank for Jaxson Dart. “Sure enough, the stars are aligning again.”
