PFF chooses Amarius Mims as 2026 breakout candidate for Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals seem to have turned a corner on offensive line late in the 2025-26 season.

And one of the main drivers of that resurgence was Amarius Mims, the 23-year-old, 6’ 8”, 350 pound gentle giant from Georgia.

Not surprisingly, Pro Football Focus has named Mims its breakout candidate for the Bengals in 2026.

Here is what Dalton Wasserman of PFF wrote:

After a season and a half full of consistent struggles, Mims may have turned a corner late in the season, potentially changing the complexion of Cincinnati’s offensive line. From Week 12 through Week 18, Mims earned an 81.0 PFF overall grade that ranked 13th among qualified offensive tackles. He also did not allow a sack across his final eight games of the season.

Working in Mims’ favor is the fact that he’s on a line that is trending in the right direction.

Scott Peters’ unit surged late in the season, which it has done in the past, but this time it feels different, largely because of Mims. He has the attitude, youth, and frame to make you think big things are in his future. And Wasserman and other experts agree.
