The Senior Bowl completed Day 2 in Mobile on Wednesday with several players building on their performances from the opening day. Over the past few years, the Los Angeles Rams have drafted players who attended the Senior Bowl, Terrance Ferguson being the prominent example last season. Let’s jump into the Day 2 winners.

1. OT Max Iheanachor, Arizona State

For the second day in a row, Arizona State’s Max Iheanachor was one of the winners in Mobile. It will be interesting to see what the Rams do at right tackle. Given how Warren McClendon played down the stretch, it’s hard to see them taking a right tackle inside the top-50. However, if it is something that they consider, Iheanachor is an option. He had some losses in team drills, but did handle Mizzou’s Zion Young who has had a great week. Where Iheanachor really stood out was during 1-on-1s. Again, the price may be too rich for what the Rams want to pay at right tackle this year, but he’s certainly someone to continue watching.

Several of the mid-round cornerbacks impressed on Day 2 of the Senior Bowl, including Chris Johnson. However, the player that consistently stood out was Texas’ Malik Muhammad. This is a player that would fit how the Rams play defense. He was good in off-man and crashing down on the ball. His best play of the day was coming down and breaking up a pass from USC’s Ja’Kobie Lane. Again, this is likely someone that the Rams would take in the second or third round, but if they were to double-up early at cornerback, Muhammad could be a name to watch.

3. LB Jacob Rodriguez, Texas Tech

The best linebacker of the day was Texas Tech’s Jacob Rodriguez. The Rams don’t tend to invest highly in linebackers, but it’s hard not to like what Rodriguez did on day two. At Texas Tech, Rodriguez was known for his ability to force fumbles. He led the nation with seven of them last year alone. On Wednesday, Rodriguez had a peanut punch and then later on had an interception, showcasing his playmaking ability. The Rams need to try and upgrade next to Nate Landman next season and get more balance at the position. Rodriguez has continued to make plays in Mobile and remains one of my favorite players in the draft.

4. TE Nate Boerkircher, Texas A&M

The Rams need to continue adding to the tight end spot this offseason. That doesn’t mean that they should draft one in the first two or three rounds. However, if this is a team that is going to continue running 13 personnel, they need to add depth. In four years at Nebraska and Texas A&M, Nate Boerkircher only had 38 catches total. After Wednesday’s practice in Mobile, it became immediately clear that he was not used as a pass catcher enough. Boerkircher in more of a blocking tight end, but the upside as a pass catcher is there. On Wednesday, he had multiple contested catches over defenders that stood out.

5. EDGE Quintayvious Hutchins, Boston College

It wouldn’t be surprising to see the Rams add depth at edge rusher late in the draft. They are set at the top with Jared Verse and Byron Young. Even Josaiah Stewart is good depth as the third player in that rotation. With that said, the Rams are missing some variety at the position. They need another flavor and a speed guy that can win with finesse moves. Quintayvious Hutchins put an offensive tackle on skates on Day 1 and continued that on Wednesday. Hutchins won on several occasions with a Euro move inside and played the run well in team drills.
