L.A. Rams News: Is this why this loss feels different?

This Los Angeles Rams loss to the Seattle Seahawks has been a disappointing one for the team and for the fans, but what makes this loss different from other losses under Sean McVay? This is the first time we have seen McVay fall in the NFC Championship Game.

We’ve seen McVay and his team miss the playoffs, lose in the Wild Card Round, lose in the Divisional Round and the Super Bowl, but we’ve never seen McVay and his boys falter in the Championship Game.

This loss will forever be a “What-if?” because this team had the talent to make the Super Bowl, and don’t take ANYTHING away from the Seattle Seahawks, but this L.A. team could’ve made the SB, and they could’ve won.

Instead, Seattle sent them home, and it forever will be a what-if? or what could’ve been? scenario for the Rams. And, no, this isn’t a loss that should ruin anyone’s life, but it is a loss that some may never fully get over because they’ll always wonder, what-if?

Thank you for checking out Turf Show Times. I am managing my disappointment in Sunday’s loss with a lot of James Bond films. Life goes on, but whether your team wins or not.

Sean McVay after NFC Championship Game loss: ‘This was a special year, I think it’s hard to fathom that it’s over’ (nfl.com)

“Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay talks to the media following first conference championship loss as head coach against the Seattle Seahawks.“

Rams double-dip at CB in new 2026 NFL mock draft from PFF (sports.yahoo.com)

“L.A. allowed 346 passing yards and three passing touchdowns to Sam Darnold in the conference title game after allowing 257 yards and two touchdowns in the divisional round. And in the season, the Rams ranked 19th in passing yards and passing touchdowns allowed.

Now, armed with two first-round picks, the Rams can make some major updates in the secondary. Pro Football Focus’ Dalton Wasserman picked two cornerbacks with each of L.A.‘s two first-round selections: Tennessee’s Jermod McCoy with the No. 13 pick and Arizona State’s Keith Abney II with the No. 29 pick.“

Rams Have a Big Question To Ask Regarding Kam Curl (si.com)

“Whether or not the Rams re-sign Curl, the decision will not be based on what the Rams have already done with Lake because both players are safeties in name only. Lake is a safety but he’s more of a slot corner/ hybrid-linebacker, while Curl plays a variety of roles but often has to defend over the top.

On top of that, no one outside of Kam Kinchens (periodically) plays as many snaps per game as Lake and Curl, making both men incredibly valuable to the Rams’ defensive operation.“

“Why go to Mumfield and Ferguson when you have Adams and Nacua? The season was on the line sort of. And our offensive line was starting to wear on them. The run was working until it wasn’t. Armchair quarterbacking is painful sometimes.“ -Sunsetstripped
