The Las Vegas Raiders’ 22-day head coaching search to replace the fired Pete Carroll appears to be trending toward a conclusion.
And a name to watch is former New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll. He interviewed in person on Tuesday, according to ESPN. Daboll was a late entry into the interview process as he first interviewed with Las Vegas on Saturday.
ESPN also reported the Tennessee Titans will hire Daboll as offensive coordinator if he doesn’t get the Raiders’ job.
Meanwhile, another top candidate is off the board. The Buffalo Bills promoted their offensive coordinator, Joe Brady, to head coach. He had a second interview with the Raiders on Monday.
Denver Broncos passing-game coordinator Davis Webb also had a second interview on Monday with the Raiders. In addition to Daboll and Webb, the Raiders also are believed to be interested in talking further to Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak and Los Angeles Rams offensive coordinator Mike LeFleur. There have been reports this week that Kubiak may opt to stay in Seattle for the 2026 season.
With Buffalo hiring Brady, there are just three of the 10 openings that are still open. They are the Raiders, Cleveland Browns and Arizona Cardinals’ jobs.
It is believed Kubiak and Webb are the Raiders’ top choices, so if they are interested, las Vegas should be in good shape.
But Daboll, 50, looms.
He was fired as the New York Giants head coach in the 2025 season after being hired in 2022. He was 20-40-1 as a head coach. He has 25 seasons of NFL coaching experience. He has eight seasons experience as an NFL offensive coordinator.
Daboll is an experienced coach and is considered a strong offensive mind. He worked with Raiders’ part owner Tom Brady in New England for six seasons and they won five Super Bowls together.
