Daniel Jeremiah’s first mock draft has the Eagles adding to the secondary

The Super Bowl is the only game left to play to wrap up the 2025 season, and the rest of the NFL has turned their sites to the future. As teams start filling their coaching vacancies — and the Eagles continue to meet with, but not secure, their OC targets —, they’re also looking at building their new rosters, which means, Daniel Jeremiah has released his first official mock draft of the offseason.

With the No. 23 overall pick, Jeremiah has the Eagles taking CB Avieon Terrell out of Clemson.

“Terrell teams up with Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell to give the Eagles the best young secondary in the NFL. The former Clemson Tiger can play inside or outside.“

It’s certainly an interesting choice given some of the other areas that need addressing, but Howie Roseman has been very open and confident in the team’s approach in drafting the best player available, regardless of perceived need at any one position. With that in mind, Terrell is an interesting option, and would help form a unit that could stay together for several years.

Terrell played three seasons at Clemson and had 125 total tackles, 25 passes defended, 8 forced fumbles, 4 sacks, 3 interceptions, and 3 fumble recoveries. He also finished No. 1 in the ACC, and No. 3 in the whole NCAA, last season with five forced fumbles.

NFL Analyst Lance Zierlein has Terrell graded as a good future starter, and had this to say about the prospect:

“Avieon shares the same bloodlines and coverage temperament as his brother, A.J., a first-round pick of the Atlanta Falcons in 2020. Avieon Terrell is an athletic, fluid mover with clean transitions and enough speed to stay in phase on most vertical routes. He’s most effective in press-man coverage, where he mirrors releases with timing and discipline, staying crowded to the route. He concedes 50/50s to bigger targets at times, but is a constant catch irritant with good technique on all three levels. He can play wide or inside and is willing in run support, but he lacks ideal size. Terrell projects as an early starter thanks to his polish, ball skills and coverage versatility.”

Terrell is 5-foot-11, 180 pounds, and his size is considered one of his few weaknesses, but it hasn’t kept him from being a first-round target.

There will certainly be many names tied to the Eagles over the next few months, but CB in the first round is an interesting way to start draft season.
