Carmen Bricillo, who in 2025 oversaw the best offensive line the New York Giants have had in several years, will not be retained by new head coach John Harbaugh.
Paul Schwartz of the New York Post is reporting that only outside linebackers coach Charlie Bullen and tight ends coach Tim Kelly will be kept from Brian Daboll’s staff.
Bricillo was hired by Daboll in 2024 to replace Bobby Johnson. Pro Football Focus ranked the Giants’ offensive line the ninth-best in the league in 2025, a stunning reversal for a line that has long been a weakness. PFF said:
The Giants’ offensive line surprised in 2025. Whereas the unit ranked 30th in PFF pass-blocking efficiency rating in 2024, the front placed fourth this year (87.6). After giving up 30 sacks in 2024, New York surrendered just 15 this season.
This was largely due to the emergence and high-level play of veteran right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor, who gave up pressure on just 3.3% of pass plays — the best rate among all right tackles this season.
Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post dropped this on ‘X’, and my guess is he will be right:
Losing Bricillo immediately calls into question whether or not Eluemunor, a free agent, will return to the Giants. Eluemunor and Bricillo have been together since 2019 with the New England Patriots.
Who Harbaugh will bring to New Jersey to coach the offensive line is not clear.
Bullen was the Giants’ outside linebackers coach the past two seasons, and was the interim defensive coordinator for the final five games of the 2025 season. He worked with Giants’ GM Joe Schoen for several seasons with the Miami Dolphins.
Kelly was offensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans in 2023 before serving as the Giants’ tight ends coach the past two seasons. He was also interim offensive coordinator for interim head coach Mike Kafka.
With Jesse Minter having been named head coach of the Baltimore Ravens, and the Giants having reportedly requested interviews with most of Harbaugh’s former Ravens assistants, it is possible that Harbaugh’s coaching staff begins to fill up quickly over the next few days.
