Eagles Question of the Day:
What letter grade would you give to Jihaad Campbell for his rookie season? Head over to The Feed and weigh in with your answer and explanation!
Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles news and links …
Jihaad Campbell named to PFWA All-Rookie Team – PE.com
Jihaad Campbell’s impact in Philadelphia didn’t go unnoticed. Campbell was named to the Pro Football Writers of America All-Rookie Team after playing in all 17 games and making 10 starts for the Eagles. It is the fourth straight season that the Eagles’ top draft pick earned the honor. A first-round pick out of Alabama, Campbell finished his rookie season with 76 total tackles, 11 quarterback pressures, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. His highlight of the season was his fourth-quarter, end zone interception off Baker Mayfield in the Eagles’ Week 4 victory over the Buccaneers.
Eagles reportedly lose Christian Parker to the Cowboys – BGN
It’s possible that Parker is a good position coach but not a good defensive coordinator. And Dallas has a long way to go in remaking their talent on that side of the ball after it was such a disastrous unit under Matt Eberflus in 2025. But it’ll be pretty annoying for the Eagles if Parker helps the Cowboys turn things around in a big way.
Parker has indeed worked under Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, one of the most respected defensive minds in the NFL at the moment. If he brings even a fraction of what the Eagles have done on that side of the ball to the Cowboys then this will all work out very well. It is a huge deviation from the norm for the Cowboys to hire someone so young in Parker what with him being only 34 years old. We all know better than to overreact in saying things like how everything is suddenly different, but this is at the very least a venture down an uncharted path which is nice to see.
Three big questions facing the Eagles this offseason – ESPN
A.J. Brown, 28, had a hard time hiding his frustration for the better part of the season and there were moments — including in the playoff loss to the 49ers, when the receiver had a pair of drops and finished with three catches for 25 yards on seven targets — that made it feel like his off-field angst had seeped into his on-field performance. There are ongoing questions about his compatibility with quarterback Jalen Hurts, and it’s fair to wonder whether his attitude toward his situation in Philly will change much given most of the primary actors (with the notable exception of offensive coordinator) are likely to remain the same in 2026. While discontentment is bad for the locker room, losing a talent (not to mention a team captain) like Brown is probably worse. He might be the greatest receiver in Eagles history, holding the top two marks for receiving yards in a season while helping Philadelphia reach the Super Bowl in two of his four seasons here.
New Years Resolutions for all 32 NFL Teams – PFF
Philadelphia Eagles: Find a long-term replacement for Lane Johnson and add offensive line depth. Lane Johnson remains one of the NFL’s premier tackles when healthy, but he will turn 36 before next season, making succession planning unavoidable. The only other player to log meaningful snaps at right tackle this year was Fred Johnson, who finished as the lowest-graded offensive lineman on the Eagles’ roster. Sustaining one of the league’s most important units requires proactive investment. Adding depth and identifying a long-term answer on the offensive line should be a priority this offseason, a need reflected in the PFF Mock Draft Simulator, where Eagles fans are frequently selecting Penn State guard Olaivavega Ioane with the team’s top pick. While questions about his length could push him inside to guard or center at the NFL level, his performance this season points to a future pro regardless of position. He will face a stiff test against Alabama’s collection of future NFL edge rushers.
While Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown made headlines during the season for his behavior on the field, his attitude made headlines for a different reason this week. After the Eagles’ 23-19 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Jan. 11, Brown has remained relatively mum, especially following him jawing back and forth with coach Nick Sirianni. Then Brown popped up Thursday, but for different reasons — gifting a PlayStation 5 to a total stranger.
The Four-Step Guide to Making a Super Bowl Run With a Backup QB – The Ringer
We’ve seen backups get their teams over the finish line at other points in league history, most recently in 2017 when Nick Foles led the Eagles to their first Lombardi Trophy after he replaced Carson Wentz. Jeff Hostetler led the Giants to a Super Bowl in 1990 after Phil Simms went down with an injury. And Doug Williams was the first to pull off the feat in 1987 with Washington. But all three of those quarterbacks had at least some runway heading into the postseason gauntlet. Foles had made three starts for Philadelphia during the regular season. Hostetler and Williams got two starts apiece and had played in other games. And then there’s the most famous backup success story of them all, Tom Brady, who replaced an injured Drew Bledsoe in the second game of the 2001 season and led the Patriots to the first of many Super Bowls. Brady wasn’t viewed as a true backup by the playoffs, though. He had taken Bledsoe’s job and had nearly a full season of reps before taking New England into the postseason. Brady gets enough glory and is headed for Canton. He can let the real backups have this claim for themselves.
Former Eagles DL Kevin Johnson, 55, killed at homeless encampment in Los Angeles – NFL.com
Former Philadelphia Eagles defensive lineman Kevin Johnson died from “blunt head trauma and stab wounds” at a homeless encampment, according to the medical examiner. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner said Johnson, 55, was pronounced dead Wednesday morning after being found unconscious. His death was ruled a homicide and is being investigated. A fourth-round draft pick by New England in 1993, Johnson spent time with the Patriots, Minnesota and Oakland before landing with the Eagles. He had 43 tackles, including seven sacks, and returned a fumble for a touchdown in two years with Philadelphia. He played 15 games for the Raiders in 1997.

2026 NFL Mock Draft Roundup: Mel Kiper goes defense again for the Commanders – Hogs Haven
This roundup has 38 mock drafts and 23 of them feature EDGE rushers. Miami’s Rueben Bain and Texas’s David Bailey are tied for the most popular choice, with 10 mocks sending them to D.C. Auburn’s Kevin Faulk rounds out the group with his name called twice for Washington this week.
Dallas Cowboys’ defensive coordinator hiring good news for NY Giants – Big Blue View
Charlie Bullen, outside linebackers coach for the New York Giants the past two seasons and interim defensive coordinator the final five games of the 2025 season, will not become defensive coordinator of the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys are set to name Philadelphia Eagles passing game coordinator Christian Parker as their new defensive coordinator, replacing the fired Matt Eberflus. Bullen, an up-and-coming coach with ties to general manager Joe Schoen from their time together with the Miami Dolphins, is the only defensive assistant new head coach John Harbaugh is considering retaining from the Giants’ 2025 staff.
Ravens hire Jesse Minter as next head coach – Baltimore Beatdown
The Baltimore Ravens have hired Jesse Minter as their next head coach, per a team announcement. Minter, 42, was the Chargers defensive coordinator for the last two years and will now become the fourth head coach in Ravens franchise history. He was long considered the favorite to replace John Harbaugh, who was fired after the team missed the playoffs.
Super Bowl 2026: New England Patriots look inevitable once again – SB Nation
Are the Patriots inevitable again? RJ: As soon as the Patriots won on Sunday this thought struck me so I tweeted it out. All of the responses noted that they didn’t exactly “win” the game as much as C.J. Stroud lost it for Houston. Isn’t that the point, though? Taking nothing away New England’s dynastic run (either of them), the most frustrating thing about it was that they always seemed to find a way, even when they weren’t playing their best football. That was their inevitable-ness. I really don’t care if the Patriots are great again; it is just boring and not enthralling. Many have pointed out that their run this season has come against a lackluster group of quarterbacks and now because of what happened to Bo Nix the Pats are going to face Jarrett Stidham with a ticket to the Super Bowl on the line! Imagine your team catching that kind of break.
