With the season officially over for the Minnesota Vikings, it’s time. . .unfortunately. . .to start looking ahead to the 2026 NFL Draft. We know where the purple are going to be selecting, and we’ve got all of the selections for the non-playoff teams here for you to check out as well.

The Vikings, after finishing 9-8 and winning their final five games, will select at #18 in the first round, which is the last slot before all of the playoff teams make their selections. What you’ll see below is the order for the non-playoff teams, along with their records and their strength of schedule. Remember, when it comes to draft picks, the lower a team’s strength of schedule, the higher a draft pick that team receives.

Updated 2026 NFL Draft order

Since there are still a few things left to be decided based on tonight’s Sunday Night Football matchup between Baltimore and Pittsburgh, a couple of the draft slots below will have two teams. The teams in regular font represent the draft order should Pittsburgh beat Baltimore, while the teams in italics represent the draft order should Baltimore beat Pittsburgh. Once the Sunday Night Football results become official, I’ll come back and edit everything so that there’s only one set of draft picks.

With that, here we go!

  1. Las Vegas Raiders (3-14, .538)
  2. New York Jets (3-14, .552)
  3. Arizona Cardinals (3-14, .571)
  4. Tennessee Titans (3-14, .574)
  5. New York Giants (4-13, .524)
  6. Cleveland Browns (5-12, .486)
  7. Washington Commanders (5-12, .507)
  8. New Orleans Saints (6-11, .495)
  9. Kansas City Chiefs (6-11, .516)
  10. Cincinnati Bengals (6-11, .521)
  11. Miami Dolphins (7-10, .488)
  12. Dallas Cowboys (7-9-1, .441)
  13. Los Angeles Rams (from Atlanta Falcons, 8-9, .495)
  14. Baltimore Ravens (8-9, .503)/Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-9, .529)
  15. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-9, .529)/New York Jets (from Indianapolis Colts, 8-9, .538)
  16. New York Jets (from Indianapolis Colts, 8-9, .538)/Detroit Lions (9-8, .490)
  17. Detroit Lions (9-8, .490)/Pittsburgh Steelers (9-8, .507)
  18. Minnesota Vikings (9-8, .514)

As far as the playoff teams are concerned:

  • Picks 19 through 24 go to the teams that lose on Wild Card Weekend, from the worst record to the best
  • Picks 25 through 28 go to the teams that lose in the Divisional Round
  • Picks 29 and 30 go to the teams that lose the Conference Championship Games
  • Pick 31 goes to the team that loses the Super Bowl
  • Pick 32 goes to the team that wins the Super Bowl

Aside from the Falcons and the Colts, two other teams have also traded away their first-round picks for 2025. Those two teams are the Green Bay Packers (traded their pick to Dallas) and the Jacksonville Jaguars (traded their pick to Cleveland).

What do you think of the Vikings’ draft slot, folks?
