Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 9/26/24
The Los Angeles Rams have had some injuries but they still have Matthew Stafford as their starting quarterback, and that is more than other teams can say. Because of the fact that some teams are without a quality backup is it a good time for LA to trade Jimmy Garoppolo? I really hope to hear from you so let us know what you think!
I personally think that unless you are going to get at least a third then hang on to Jimmy G because I think he’s a quality backup QB in the NFL. After LA’s most recent victory over the San Francisco 49ers they are very much alive and well. They may want to hang onto Jimmy G just in case Stafford does end up needing a break.
Again, please let us know what you think and thank you so much for checking out Turf Show Times!
Rams’ Jimmy Garoppolo Slated as Trade Candidate to Replace Dolphins Tua Tagovailoa (si.com)
“Despite Garoppolo returning, he will still be playing second fiddle to Stafford. He could also find himself in the third-string role behind Stetson Bennet. Either way, Garoppolo is not likely to suit up this season.
That said, the former 49ers and Raiders quarterback has now been slated to be a trade candidate, popping up as a perfect replacement for the Miami Dolphins.
The Dolphins lost Tua Tagovailoa to another concussion, and his 2024 season along with his playing career is still in very much in question. Backup quarterback Skylar Thompson started in Week 3, but looked completely out of his depth.”

Los Angeles Rams at Chicago Bears: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 4 game (usatoday)
“Quarterbacks taken first overall in an NFL Draft will faceoff Sunday with Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears (1-2) hosting Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams (1-2).
Despite all of the injuries, the Rams overcame an uphill battle by defeating in-state rival San Francisco 49ers in a stunner. The season was looking like it was already over, but Los Angeles suddenly has renewed faith as it waits for its stars to get healthy.
The offense is starting to show progress in Chicago but it’s not entirely there yet. The Bears were unable to take advantage of a suspect Colts defense and dropped its second-straight game. The hype was high in Chicago, can the Bears keep it up when they return home?”

Rams rookie Justin Dedich makes most of first opportunity (ocregister)
“LOS ANGELES — Standing on the sidelines during the second quarter of Sunday’s victory over the San Francisco 49ers, Rams rookie offensive lineman Justin Dedich got a tap on the shoulder from position coach Ryan Wendell.
Man down, time to take the field. As he ran out there, he saw left guard Logan Bruss hurrying to the sidelines, a finger pointed in an artificial angle. That was as much as Dedich was able to process as he arrived at the huddle.
“There’s really no time to think. Just run out there and before I knew it, I’m like, ‘Holy [expletive], I’m out here,’” Dedich said.
The undrafted rookie out of USC voiced that thought out loud, but soon had to pay attention to the play call. He was only on the field for two snaps before Bruss returned, but Dedich made the most of them and helped the Rams keep moving forward for their first touchdown drive of the game.”
