The seventeenth weekend of the 2025 NFL regular season is here!

Let’s run through a Philadelphia Eagles-focused rooting guide for all of the remaining Week 17 games.

NFC PLAYOFF PICTURE

Here’s a look at the current NFC playoff picture, via ESPN:

Eagles rooting guide for NFL Week 17 games

And here’s a look at the Eagles’ path to the No. 2 seed via the great Deniz Selman:

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES at BUFFALO BILLS: With a win over the Bills, the Eagles will clinch being no lower than the No. 3 seed (if they don’t already clinch as much in the 1:00 PM window by the Carolina Panthers losing to the Seattle Seahawks). An Eagles win also keeps their hopes of the No. 2 seed alive going into Sunday night’s game between the San Francisco 49ers and Chicago Bears. Not to mention an Eagles win in Buffalo could be a really nice confidence booster for the team and their fans alike. Go Birds.

BALTIMORE RAVENS at GREEN BAY PACKERS: As referenced in Path 3 in the preceding Selman tweet, the Eagles can potentially benefit from the Packers going exactly 1-0-1 over their final two games. Root for a Packers win or tie.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS at CAROLINA PANTHERS: As referenced in Path 2, the Eagles can benefit from the Seahawks losing this game. The silver lining to a Seahawks win is that the Eagles will not be able to drop to the No. 4 seed. Root for the Panthers.

CHICAGO BEARS at SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS: The Eagles will be eliminated from No. 2 seed contention if both the Seahawks beat the Panthers AND the Bears beat the 49ers in this game. The Eagles can benefit from a Bears win in Path 2 outlined above but the other two of three paths require the Bears to lose out. Root for the 49ers.

LOS ANGELES RAMS at ATLANTA FALCONS: As referenced in Path 2, the Eagles want the Rams to lose at least one more game. Root for the Falcons.

DETROIT LIONS at MINNESOTA VIKINGS: The Eagles would’ve preferred a Lions win over the Vikings because Detroit is now playing a meaningless Week 18 game against the Bears instead of pushing for a playoff spot. Dan Campbell’s guys might fight hard to spoil Chicago’s playoff positioning anyway … but no guarantee that happens. Lions lost.

DRAFT PICK CONSIDERATIONS

Here’s the current 2026 NFL Draft order for non-playoff teams, via Tankathon:

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS at NEW YORK JETS: Thanks to last year’s Haason Reddick trade, the Eagles own the Jets’ third-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. The more the Jets lose, the more favorable the pick will be for the Birds. Root for the Patriots.

NEW YORK GIANTS at LAS VEGAS RAIDERS: This a HUGE game. The Eagles really want the Giants to win and potentially drop to No. 4 instead of losing and remaining at No. 1 overall. Root for the Giants.

DALLAS COWBOYS at WASHINGTON COMMANDERS: The Eagles would’ve preferred the Commanders to win and screw up their draft positioning. But the Cowboys did that instead, albeit a little lower in the order. Commanders lost.

DENVER BRONCOS at KANSAS CITY CHIEFS: The Chiefs’ loss on Thursday keeps them ahead of Dallas in the draft order, so, that’s good. Chiefs lost.

ARIZONA CARDINALS at CINCINNATI BENGALS: The Eagles want the Cardinals to stay ahead of Washington in the draft order. And maybe even get ahead of the Giants. Also, it’s fun to root against Jonathan Gannon. Root for the Bengals.

PITTSBURGH STEELERS at CLEVELAND BROWNS: The Eagles want the Browns to move ahead of the Giants in the draft order. Root for the Steelers.

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS at TENNESSEE TITANS: The Eagles want the Titans to stay ahead of Washington and potentially move ahead of the Giants in the draft order. Root for the Saints.

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS at INDIANAPOLIS COLTS: Two reasons to root for the Jags: 1) the Colts losing out gives Indy a chance to move ahead of Dallas in the draft order and 2) the Jags winning keeps them motivated to chance after the No. 1 seed and not rest starters against the Titans in Week 18. Root for the Jaguars.

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS at MIAMI DOLPHINS: The Eagles want the Dolphins to stay ahead of Dallas in the draft order. Root for the Buccaneers.

WHAT’S LEFT

HOUSTON TEXANS at LOS ANGELES CHARGERS: Doesn’t really matter.
