The season might be over for the Cincinnati Bengals in terms of how far they can advance.
But that doesn’t mean there aren’t any reasons to still follow the team and tune into games.
Here are three reasons to still be an active Bengals fan for these last two games:
The defense is growing before our eyes
There’s no denying that Al Golden’s unit is improving, in particular Myles Murphy, who is getting consistent pressure on QBs.
Sure, there was literally nowhere to go but up. But there’s no denying they’ve looked promising since the bye week.
Now is the time to get a preview of the kind of play we can hope for next year.
It’s similar to when Vonn Bell hit JuJu Smith-Schuster in legendary fashion, setting the tone for the next year, when Cincinnati’s defense consistently made big play after big play in the postseason en route to a Super Bowl appearance.
Joe Burrow is having fun again
The Bengals QB is obsessed with football, so when he said he wouldn’t be doing this if it wasn’t fun, he meant it.
His performance against the Miami Dolphins reminded Burrow and everyone else why he does what he does, earning him AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors.
Burrow is now the second highest rated QB according to Pro Football Focus.
We can continue to expect the star signal caller to treat these last three competitions like his own personal backyard games, and that is always enjoyable to watch.
Winning is always nice
The last two games of the season are very, very winnable.
Cincinnati faces the Arizona Cardinals at home this week and the Cleveland Browns at home next week.
After completely dismantling the Dolphins, it was made clear that this is a talented team that is looking to remind people who they are. So don’t be surprised if the Bengals’ defense gives Shedeur Sanders and Jacoby Brissett fits and Burrow continues to shine as he shakes off the rust.
