Ken Anderson was recently announced as one of five senior finalists for the 2026 Pro Football Hall of Fame. Anderson has an extensive list of accolades to back his case up.
He is a 4x Pro Bowler, has been selected once each as a First- and Second-Team All-Pro, and won the NFL Most Valuable Player award in 1981. On top of all of those accomplishments, he was also named NFL Man of the Year in 1975.
Cincinnati Bengals coach Zac Taylor made his case for Anderson right after the finalist announcement was made.
“He absolutely should have been in the Hall of Fame a long time ago,” Taylor stated. “He should absolutely be in now. Statistically, he’s in a better position than a lot of people who are in. NFL MVP, Man of the Year, led his team to a Super Bowl. All the great performances. Completion percentage, everything he’s done statistically. He should be in it right now.”
Those are strong words from Coach Taylor. According to Zac, there is plenty of mutual respect between the two former quarterbacks.
“I’m a big fan of Ken Anderson. He’s always been great to me through the good times and the bad. He’s an example of when we struggled, he was there genuinely supporting me and the direction we were headed.” Taylor said.
