Fantasy Football: 5 last-minute waiver-wire targets before Week 14
- Chicago Bears rookie WR Luther Burden III will get his shot in Week 14: Burden saw six targets and was on the field for 50.6% of the time last week, both marking his career-highs. He is bound to get a big opportunity in Week 14 with Rome Odunze sidelined with a heel injury.
- Blake Corum needs to be rostered in every league: The Los Angeles Rams are trying to keep their starting running back, Kyren Williams, healthy for the playoffs, and that has shown with Blake Corum’s increased workload over the last month. He posted a career-high 81 rushing yards and scored a touchdown last week. If nothing else, Corum is one of the best insurance backs to stash heading into the fantasy playoffs.

With so many key fantasy players injured or on bye weeks, you may find yourself digging deeper on the waiver wire than you ever expected. Here are five players to consider adding from the waiver wire heading into Week 14 if you’re in a pinch due to injury or bye weeks.
Trevor Lawrence has quietly thrown five touchdowns over the last two weeks while scoring 17 and 23 fantasy points in those games. He has now scored at least 17 fantasy points in six of his last eight games while being the QB10 in average scoring since Week 5 (min. three starts) with 18.5 points per game. The Indianapolis Colts have faced a lot of bad fantasy quarterbacks as of late, including Cam Ward, Aaron Rodgers, Michael Penix Jr., and C.J. Stroud, but earlier in the year, they had given up big fantasy days to Bo Nix, Matthew Stafford, Jacoby Brissett and Justin Herbert.
With four teams on bye, Lawrence is a solid starting option in Week 14, and he is available in the majority of leagues.

Last Sunday, Blake Corum posted a career-high 81 rushing yards and scored his second touchdown of the season. He ended the week with 14.1 fantasy points, his most in a game in his NFL career. Corum has been seeing the field more often over the last month, logging over 30% of the snaps in four straight games. With Kyren Williams banged up and offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur stating that he wants to keep Williams fresh for the playoffs, it will not be surprising if Corum continues to see an increased workload over the final stretch of the regular season. This week, the Rams get a nice matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, who have struggled against running backs as of late. Over the last four weeks, only the Washington Commanders, New York Giants and Carolina Panthers have allowed more fantasy points per game to the running back position than the Cardinals.
I think Corum can have stand-alone value. However, if you are a Kyren Williams fantasy manager, you must have Corum stashed on your bench for insurance purposes heading into the fantasy playoffs.

Burden’s rookie season has been one to forget, as he has only one double-digit fantasy performance to his name through the first 13 weeks. However, his playing time has increased since the Chicago Bears’ Week 9 bye, as he has seen the field 48.5% of the time since Week 10, after only getting 24.2% playing time from Weeks 1-8. Last week in Philadelphia, Burden notched career-highs in both playing time (50.6%) and targets (six). He will have an even greater opportunity in Week 14 with teammate Rome Odunze ruled out of the game with a heel injury. The Green Bay Packers showed last week that they are not a shutdown passing defense when they allowed Jameson Williams to go off against them for 144 yards and a touchdown on Thanksgiving Day.

With the New Orleans Saints trading away Rashid Shaheed and releasing Brandin Cooks, Devaughn Vele has seen a massive increase in playing time and target share. Vele has played 87.6% of the offensive snaps while seeing 15 targets over the last two weeks. Vele had a career fantasy day with eight receptions, 93 yards and a touchdown for 23.3 points in Week 13. Vele will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this Sunday, who have allowed the eighth-most receiving yards per game to wide receivers in 2025. Since Week 10, the Buccaneers have allowed six wide receivers to put up 14-plu fantasy points against them, including guys like Tyrell Shavers, Mack Hollins and Kyle Williams.

Darren Waller appeared in his first game with the Miami Dolphins in Week 4 and put up 17.7 fantasy points, then scored 18.8 points in Week 5, and 9.2 points in Week 6. He unfortunately suffered a pectoral injury in Week 7 that kept him out for the next four straight games. Waller returned to the field in Week 13 in a limited fashion, playing just 47% of the snaps after playing close to 70% of the snaps prior to his injury. His playing time should increase in his second week back, and he will need to be a big part of the Dolphins’ offense, which has been struggling with limited receiving options. Last weekend, Kyle Pitts put up one of his best games of the season against the Jets with seven receptions for 82 yards. The New York Jets have allowed the third-most receiving touchdowns to tight ends in 2025, and I expect Waller to come down with at least one reception in the end zone in Week 14.
