Jordan Mailata is the Philadelphia Eagles’ Walter Payton Man of the Year Award nominee for the 2025 NFL season.
The annual award is designed to recognize “outstanding community service activities off the field, as well as excellence on the field.”
On the field, Mailata ranks 12th out of 83 offensive tackles graded by Pro Football Focus this season.
Off the field, Mailata has made valuable contributions to the community. As noted by the Eagles’ official site:
Mailata arrived in Philadelphia as a seventh-round pick in 2018 and quickly became involved in the community. He began supporting the Philadelphia Children’s Alliance in 2019, and he and his wife, Niki, were honored by the organization in 2025 for their ongoing involvement. Mailata is also a supporter of the American Association for Cancer Research, which he promoted during My Cause My Cleats.
Since joining the Eagles, Mailata has been a strong supporter of the Eagles Autism Foundation. One of his many contributions was creating an apparel line for “Jeff Stoutland University,” raising more than $200,000 for EAF.
It’s pretty cool to think about how far Mailata has come since originally joining the Eagles as a total long shot who had never even played a single snap of football in his entire life. Starting from the bottom as a seventh-round pick in 2018, he’s evolved into a Super Bowl champion starting left tackle who’s earned second-team All-Pro honors in addition to being a multi-year team captain and now a Walter Payton Man of the Year Award nominee.
Here’s a look at how Mailata found out about his nominee status:
The winner of this year’s Walter Payton Man of the Year Award will receive up to $250,000 donated to their charity of choice. All other 31 nominees receive up to $50,000 donated to their charity of choice.
