To help pass the time until the 8:15 p.m. ET Monday Night Football kickoff between the New York Giants and New England Patriots, here are some pre-game thoughts for you to ponder.
This will be a little different than my usual ‘Things I Think’ column. This one is is a video version. Rather that re-writing my thoughts on a variety of topics in full I will touch on them below, with extended thoughts in the vedio.
The possibility Tomlin could be available this offseason seemed to increase Sunday night with the “Fire Tomlin” chants during an embarrassing 26-7 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Tomlin would have to be at the top of the list of potential candidates if he is out in Pittsburgh. I do, though, have reservations.
[Starts around the :45 mark]
Mike Kafka’s chance
The Giants’ interim coach not only needs some victories down the stretch to have a shot at the full-time job, but he probably needs a signature victory. His best chance at that comes on Monday night.
[Starts around the 7:15 mark]
Dexter Lawrence’s elbow injury
Are you buying the idea the Giants are selling that Lawrence’s elbow has not been an issue this season, and that he just took a couple of hard hits to it against the Detroit Lions last week? I’m not.
[Starts around the 13:00 mark]
Jaxson Dart’s return to the field
There are Giants fans who think the team should wrap him in bubble wrap and keep him off the field for the remainder of the season after his Week 10 concussion. The reality is they won’t do that. I agree with him playing, and spend some time explaining why.
[Starts around the 16:50 mark]
Paulson Adebo, Kayvon Thibodeaux injuries
Adebo will play, Thibodeaux won’t. I offer some thoughts on their injuries.
