The Minnesota Vikings announced that starting QB J.J. McCarthy is in concussion protocol. Typically, it’s nearly certain this will lead to McCarthy missing at least one week. Based on averages, 25–30% of players return the same week, another 25–30% the following week, and 80% return before the three-week mark. Many factors influence recovery, including the number of concussions, severity, and other physical and mental considerations.
Undrafted Free Agent Max Brosmer is the only healthy remaining QB on the Vikings’ roster. The former University of Minnesota Golden Gopher will be the first alumnus to start at QB in the NFL if he gets the nod. Brosmer’s preseason results were promising, but we all know that can be fool’s gold. My question today is simple and not about McCarthy: How excited are you to see Brosmer starting?
(It’s ok to be excited about Brosmer, but still like McCarthy long term.)
