Marvin Lewis flew in to Cincinnati on Thursday and is meeting with Bengals owner Mike Brown on Friday, according to Sports Illustrated’s Jay Morrison.
But don’t worry (or get excited, depending on where you stand on Lewis). This was just an ex-employee catching up with his old boss.
The former head coach of the Bengals is in town to call the Bengals’ game against the New England Patriots on Sunday for Sports USA Radio.
“Lewis and Brown have remained close since they parted ways following the 2018 season, ushering in the Zac Taylor era. They spoke every morning for 15 years. Now it’s once every couple of months, but the love and respect are still deep.”
When asked if he and Brown would go offsite to grab lunch, Lewis said, “Mike doesn’t leave that building for anything.” He then went on to defend his former employer, saying, “People don’t know how much that man cares. Some people say he doesn’t care. Bulls—t. That’s all he cares about.”
Hopefully, the Bengals put on a good show for the team’s old coach.
