For the second time this season, Jordan Davis is being recognized with a Player of the Week award.
The Philadelphia Eagles defensivie tackle was previously named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for blocking the Los Angeles Rams’ game-winning field goal attempt and returning it for a touchdown in Week 3.
Now Davis is being honored as NFC Defensive Player of the Week (for the first time in his career) for blocking three of Jared Goff’s pass attempts at the line of scrimmage in the Eagles’ Week 11 win over the Detroit Lions. One of those tips created an interception for Cooper DeJean, which ultimately led to three points for the offense via a short Jake Elliott field goal make.
Davis is currently tied with four-time first-team All-Pro defensive tackle Cameron Heyward for leading all NFL defensive linemen in pass deflections with six. Speaking to the developmental leap that Davis has made in 2025, he only notched five pass deflections over the 55 games (including playoffs) he played before this season.
One would think the Eagles are feeling good about the decision to pick up the fifth-year option in Davis’ contract. The big man is currently signed through 2026 and it’s possible the team will look to sign him to a long-term extension.
