Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase told the media that Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers is a “must-win” if they want to win the AFC North, and looking at the team’s official injury report, their defense could be a concern as they try to move to 3-0 in the division.
Defensive end Trey Hendrickson (hip/pelvis) was again not on the practice field. As Head Coach Zac Taylor stated, Hendrickson will be doubtful for Sunday’s contest. With each practice he misses, that doubtful designation is looking more like a definitive no.
Fellow defensive end Shemar Stewart (knee) was also a non-participant, but did get some work on the rehab field Thursday. Taylor called Stewart “week-to-week.”
Quarterback Joe Flacco (shoulder) was throwing today for the first time this week. Flacco is still managing an AC Joint sprain suffered three weeks ago, although he played through it in the loss to the Chicago Bears. He was officially limited on the injury report, but is expected to play.
Joe Burrow (toe) was again a limited participant as he continues to progress toward game action.
Running back Samaje Perine (ankle) was seen at practice for the first time since the loss to Chicago. He was listed as a non-participant, but his presence seems to be a good sign.
Guard Lucas Patrick (calf) and wide receiver Jermaine Burton (illness) both missed Thursday’s practice as well.
For the Steelers, cornerbacks Darius Slay (concussion) and Corey Trice Jr. (hamstring/knee) missed practice, along with linebacker Alex Highsmith (pectoral).
