The Miami Dolphins took to the practice field in beautiful Madrid, Spain today ahead of their international contest against the Washington Commanders slated for Sunday. The location of the practice wasn’t the only change, however, as starting right tackle Austin Jackson returned to action for the first time since suffering a toe injury in week one against the Indianapolis Colts.
Head coach Mike McDaniel said the team opened Jackson’s 21-day window to be activated, so now the Dolphins have three weeks to remove Jackson from the injured reserve list and bring him back to the 53-man roster. Today’s practice is a good indication that that may happen sooner rather than later.
In Jackson’s absence, the Dolphins have deployed former Chicago Bears offensive lineman, Larry Borom, at right tackle and the results have been mixed — albeit better than his performances with the Bears.
Borom has earned a 53.7 grade from Pro Football Focus for his play this season — ranking him 65th out of 76 tackles graded. His pass blocking grade is a 64.2, while his run blocking score checks in at a 45.0. They credit him with just two sacks allowed all season long.
We will continue to keep you updated with all things Miami Dolphins football as the team tries to claw their way back to a .500 record for the 2025 season.
