Why Jaxson Dart must be the heart of every move NY Giants make from here on out | The Record
Jaxson Dart is finally giving the New York Giants their best quarterback play in quite some time. There is no disputing that, regardless of what the scoreboard screamed out here again Sunday afternoon.
Daniel Jones had his moments on the way to the playoffs three years ago when hope inflated reality, and no one can take away that Giants’ postseason victory over Minnesota.

Quarterback Jaxson Dart keeps the New York Giants in games, but the team’s defense can’t stop anyone. Despite averaging 25.3 points in its last three outings, scoring at least 20 in each one, Big Blue lost all three.
Even though the Giants are 2-7 and will likely miss the playoffs, they should focus on acquiring young defenders to help Dart in the next two months. New York can brighten its 2026 campaign outlook with a strong finish in 2025. For now, the Giants are a bottom-tier team in the power rankings, but they’re exciting to watch on game day.
The Giants, at 2-6, don’t look like a team that should trade away picks for players in win-now moves. But with Malik Nabers (knee) and Cam Skattebo (tibia/ankle) suffering season-ending injuries, the Giants are inquiring about wide receivers and running backs to make sure they have enough offensive playmakers to keep rookie QB Jaxson Dart on a strong developmental track.

One of the top names out there is Miami’s Jaylen Waddle, who will not come cheap. The Dolphins seemingly want an insane haul for him. These are some of the other notable options: Chris Olave (Saints), Rashid Shaheed (Saints), Brian Thomas (Jaguars), Calvin Ridley (Titans) and Jakobi Meyers (Raiders).

What we learned from Giants’ Week 9 loss: One scary play shows change that needs to be made around Jaxson Dart | New York Post
Scratch off another first for Jaxson Dart. This was his first loss at MetLife Stadium. First, and certainly not the last.
There are four more home games for the Giants this season, and the way they are playing, every time they step on the field, home or away, there is a good chance they will lose.
Mara doesn’t want to shake things up. He wants to stay the course. He doesn’t want to find another general manager or another head coach. He wants to believe his team is headed in the right direction. But the Giants, again, are making that nearly impossible.
The mounting, tangible, concrete evidence — what happens on Sundays — says otherwise.
Schoen has been building for four years. Daboll has been developing for four. Add in your quarterback, and now is when it should all be clicking. Only, it’s not. Maybe that’s because the quarterback wasn’t all the Giants needed. The powers that be failed in getting everything else, too.
Giants ‘embarrassed’ by 49ers fans’ MetLife Stadium takeover | New York Post
Sights and sounds that would have been unimaginable in the heyday of the Giants-49ers rivalry left Jon Runyan Jr. with a pit in his stomach.
“Putting out the performance we had as a team, seeing the San Fran fans all packing the stadium, I felt embarrassed leaving the field,” Runyan Jr. said, “and that’s not really a feeling you want to have leaving your own home stadium.”
Is Jaxson Dart’s Play Style Sustainable? | The Draft Network
Dart has registered 51 rushing attempts this season for 251 yards and five touchdowns. Dart ranks seventh among QBs in rushing yards, but fifth in attempts and second in touchdowns. He’s only started the Giants’ latest six contests, with Russell Wilson earning the first three.
Jayden Daniels and Justin Fields are two of the quarterbacks with more rushing yards than Dart this season. Both have missed time sidelined with injury. Other starting quarterbacks who have dealt with injuries this season include Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, J.J. McCarthy, Carson Wentz, Kyler Murray, Bryce Young, Brock Purdy, and Michael Penix Jr. It’s been a particularly taxing year for QB injuries.
In addition to the on-field lapse, Banks avoided post-game media interactions, forgoing an opportunity to provide context or accountability for the play. And did so in a wildly immature fashion.
“Giants CB Deonte Banks, who got trucked by 49ers RB Brian Robinson on a TD, skirted waiting reporters by walking into bathroom with his pants around his ankles and leaving thru back door,” tweeted New York Post’s Mark Cannizzaro, who addicted the hashtag “#accountability.”
New York Giants’ defense gives up 105 points in 3 games — and there’s no end in sight | The Athletic
Since holding the Eagles and Broncos to 17 points over seven quarters, the Giants have allowed 105 points over the past nine.
For the second straight week, the Giants were gashed by the ground game. Last week, familiar face Saquon Barkley had his way on the field. On Sunday, Christian McCaffrey tallied 106 yards on 28 carries. San Francisco finished with 159 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. The Giants have allowed the second-most rushing yards in the league (1350) behind only the Cincinnati Bengals (1498). But the 5.5 rush yards per attempt is the highest allowed in the league. Their 12 rushing touchdowns allowed are tied with the Bengals, the Las Vegas Raiders and the Buffalo Bills for the second-highest in the league behind the Tennessee Titans (15).
This week’s opponent
The Bears have lost defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo for the rest of the season. Odeyingbo left the locker room on crutches after Sunday’s win over the Bengals and Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that he has been diagnosed with a torn Achilles.
The Bears signed Odeyingbo to a three-year, $48 million contract as a free agent in March. He has 21 tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack on the season.

4. With D’Andre Swift Out On Sunday, Seventh-Round Rookie Running Back Kyle Monangai Took Full Advantage Of His First Start Of His Career. For reference, Monangai came into Week 9 with 186 rushing yards and six receptions for a modest total. On Sunday, the former Rutgers product had 176 rushing yards (6.8-yard average) and three receptions for 22 yards. Although he didn’t factor in on any of the touchdowns, his rushing total ranked second-best in franchise history for a rookie running back, trailing just Anthony “A-Train” Thomas when he ran for 188 in 2001. Talk about a blast from the past.
576. Total yards by the Bears, their most since Dec. 7, 1980, when they compiled 594 in a 61-7 drubbing of the Packers at Soldier Field. In addition, it was their sixth most yards in franchise history and second most in a road game.
