The Seahawks rolled through the front half of the season, coming away with a 5-2 record against the spread. Now, they’ll look to ride the momentum down the stretch. That span included impressive feats on the road, where they hold a perfect 100% cover rate and an 8.3-point average margin of victory.

Powered by the NFL’s highest-graded passer, Sam Darnold (92.0), and the most effective deep-ball receiver in the league, Jaxon Smith-Njigba (most receptions of 15 or more yards), the Seahawks’ offense has been clicking. Pair that with a defense allowing the fourth-lowest successful play rate in the NFL, and Seattle profiles as one of the most formidable teams in the NFL. 

On the other sideline, the Commanders are hoping to find some answers to their struggles following their third straight loss. The return of quarterback Jayden Daniels is a positive addition, but it hasn’t resulted in much improvement in betting markets. With Daniels in the lineup, the Commanders are 2-3 against the spread. However, the team has played better at home, maintaining a 2-1 record against the spread.

Explosive plays, particularly in the passing game, have been the Commanders’ biggest hindrance defensively this season. Although they are holding opposing offenses below the league average in successful play rate (35.2%), they rank last in the NFL in explosive pass play rate allowed (17.1%). That deficiency will likely play a big role in this matchup — and very likely will leave the Commanders playing catch-up.

WR Chris Moore, Washington Commanders: Over 18.5 receiving yards (-107)

Terry McLaurin reaggravated his quad injury, so Chris Moore is likely to see a boost in snaps. The Commanders have frequently called on Moore to fill that void this season. He has totaled the most routes run (130) among receivers when McLaurin is not on the field. 

Moore has surpassed this line in four of his seven games this season, including a pair of performances with 45-plus receiving yards in the three games in which McLaurin was inactive and Jayden Daniels was active. In those situations, Moore has averaged 13.4 yards of depth per target and notched a pair of receptions greater than 20 yards. 

Without Daniels in the game, the Commanders throw the ball at a bottom-10 rate in the NFL (59.3%) — a significant change in pace from the 65% mark (top-10 rate) when the franchise quarterback is in the mix. There is a solid expectation of passing volume in this contest.
