Bengals vs. Commanders Week 3 Madden Simulation

Bengals vs. Commanders Week 3 Madden Simulation

We simulated the Bengals vs. Commanders in Madden to try to predict the outcome of the Week 3 battle.

The Cincinnati Bengals season got off to an all too familiar start when they lost to the Chiefs in Week 2, falling to 0-2 to start the season for the third year in a row.

On the bright side though, the team looked far better against the Chiefs, taking the back-to-back Super Bowl winner down to the wire. Now, the Bengals have to take care of business against a Commanders team they will be heavily favored against.

Let’s see how Madden predicts it will go.

The Commanders start with the ball, and the Bengals defense gets off to a hot start, getting a sack of Daniels and multiple pass breakups. They are not able to corral Jayden Daniels though as he gets multiple rushes for a first down. He is eventually able to connect with Jamison Crowder on 2nd and goal for a touchdown to take the lead.

Commanders: 7 – 0

The Bengals get the ball back and begin driving down the field. Tee Higgins instantly makes a big impact in his first game of the season. On second down, Burrow takes a sack, putting the team in a hard spot for third down. However, Chase ends up winning big time on his route, and Burrow is able to hit a streaking Chase for the deep touchdown.

Tied: 7 – 7

Following the Bengals touchdown, the Commanders again drive down the field, and the Bengals consistently get the Commanders into third down but are unable to get the last stop needed. On first and goal, Austin Ekeler is able to easily run it in for a touchdown as the Commanders regain the lead.

Commanders: 14- 7

After the Commanders touchdown, the Bengals waste no time tying up the game again with Mike Gesicki scoring on the first play of the drive with a 74-yard touchdown reception.

Tied: 14 – 14

The Bengals defense finally gets the message, even with the short rest from the one play drive, and, on the following drive, finally get the stop they needed. The Bengals offense does not let this chance go to waste, and they drive down the field and score on another pass to Mike Gesicki.

Bengals: 21 – 14

The Commanders have a chance to tie the game before halftime, but they are unable to capitalize, and the Bengals receive the ball to start the second half with the lead for a chance to take full command of the game. They don’t hesitate, completing a deep pass to Tee Higgins to get them in range before the drive is finished off with a touchdown catch by Charlie Jones.

Bengals: 28 – 14

It is do-or-die time for the Commanders offense, and they get off to a great start, pushing down into the red zone. The Bengals’ bend-but-don’t-break defense was able to not break this time, and the Commanders are held to a field goal, maintaining the Bengals’ two-possession lead.

Bengals: 28 – 17

The Bengals can put the game out of reach for the Commanders with a long touchdown drive here. They are able to do so, driving down the field and just leaving a few minutes left on the clock when Zack Moss jumps in for the score.

Bengals: 35 – 17

The Commanders, don’t have much time left, but they do put up a fight, driving down the field against the Bengals prevent defense and scoring a touchdown on a pass to Dyami Brown.

Bengals: 35 – 24

The Bengals are able to grind out the clock after getting a first down and end the game. The defense did not perform up to expectations, but the offense was exactly the dominant offense that the team will need to be a top competitor this year.

Final Score

2024 Madden Prediction Record: 0 – 1
