The Cincinnati Bengals were on the practice field today, preparing for Sunday’s matchup with the Chicago Bears in a game they simply have to win. The team released some good news on their official injury report.
Quarterback Joe Flacco (shoulder) returned to practice Thursday. He was listed as a limited participant, which doesn’t guarantee he will play Sunday, but it is a good sign that he may be able to give it a go. Earlier in the week, coach Zac Taylor said that Flacco wanted to play, but they would have to monitor him throughout the week.
Defensive end Trey Hendrickson (hip) was a non-participant in practice for the second-straight day. With him giving it a try last week and leaving the game early, it appears to be trending toward the Bengals being without their best pass rusher. Hendrickson could play, but it doesn’t seem likely at this point.
Linebacker Logan Wilson (calf) was also held out of practice for the second consecutive day. With the trade deadline on November 4th, the Bengals could opt to hold Wilson out if they have any intention of trading him. There is a real chance we’ve seen Wilson in a Bengals uniform for the last time if he can’t suit up Sunday.
Guard Dalton Risner (illness) was out again as well. Risner popped up on the injury report with an illness Sunday morning
For Chicago, they are down several offensive weapons again on Thursday.
Running back D’Andre Swift (groin) missed his second consecutive practice, putting his status for Sunday in doubt. Swift is a big part of Chicago’s rushing attack that could capitalize on the Bengals’ tackling struggles of late.
Wide receiver Luther Burden III (concussion) was again out. Unless he clears concussion protocol by Sunday, it is looking like he will be sidelined.
Wideout Rome Odunze (heel) was limited on Thursday after missing Wednesday, so Caleb Williams could have one of his top targets back.
