Dolphins Not Expected to be ‘Heavy Sellers’ as NFL Trade Deadline Quickly Approaches

The 2025 NFL trade deadline is set for next Tuesday (November 4th) at 4 PM ET, and despite the non-stop rumors, there’s still no guarantee the Miami Dolphins are actively trying to shop their players.

For weeks, NFL insiders have tried to predict what the Dolphins might do.

There were rumors that teams were interested in running back De’Von Achane and wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, but neither player appears likely to be traded, and rightfully so. They are two of the most dangerous offensive weapons in football. Building blocks for the future. Why move them unless the offer is too good to pass up, and even then, I’m not sure I’d move either player.

Defensively, however, the Dolphins have a few players who could realistically be moved before the deadline and help a playoff contender. In fact, two national analysts seem pretty confident Miami will trade away one of its EDGE rushers.

Last week, the Athletic’s Dianna Russini said she heard teams were calling Miami about pass rushers and expected Miami to move one before the trade deadline. ESPN’s Adam Schefter recently predicted the team would also move Phillips or Chubb before the deadline. Both players are intriguing for different reasons.

Today, another analyst gave their opinion on the Dolphins’ trade market.

Chubb, 29, has two years left on his deal. Unfortunately for Miami, his salary skyrockets next season, so any team looking to trade for him may want the Dolphins to take on a bulk of his contract. Or, Miami will have to settle for a trade, well under ‘market value’.

A different situation lingers for Phillips.

The 26-year-old pass-rusher is a free agent at the end of the season. So any team looking to acquire Phillips will likely have to open the checkbook and give the young pass-rusher a new deal… and despite the recent injury history, this could get costly.

Personally, if I had to choose, I’d prefer to keep Phillips around long-term. However, with a new deal imminent and injury concerns, I don’t envy general manager Chris Grier and the rest of the Dolphins’ decision-makers.

A lot could hinge on what Miami does tonight in their primetime matchup vs. the Baltimore Ravens. The Dolphins are 7.5 point underdogs AT HOME — which seems downright disrespectful, especially when both teams only have two wins.

What are your thoughts on the Dolphins’ trade market? Would you move Bradley Chubb? What about Jaelan Phillips? Are there any other players that you believe could be an asset to a playoff contender? Let us know in the comments section below!
