Our SGP picks are built around data-driven narratives — how a matchup is likely to unfold, which players are best positioned to benefit and where the edges lie.
This week, we’re also leaning on the new PFF Player Prop Tool, available exclusively in the PFF app for PFF+ members. It highlights the props with the highest probability of success, surfaces matchup insights that NFL teams themselves track and syncs with sportsbooks in real time, so you always know where the best number is.
Here are our top SGP picks for Week 8, each tied to a clear story the data suggests could play out.

Saints QB Spencer Rattler beats the Buccaneers‘ blitz-heavy man defense
The Buccaneers have been far easier to pass against than run on this season, ranking fourth in EPA allowed per rush and fourth in rush success rate but bottom-10 in both categories against the pass. In multiple ways, this matchup sets up well for Spencer Rattler, given Tampa Bay’s defensive tendencies.
Under Todd Bowles, the Buccaneers have once again been one of the NFL’s most blitz-heavy defenses, sending extra rushers at a top-five rate — on nearly half of all dropbacks.

Rattler has been outstanding against the blitz this season, but he has struggled at times when defenses don’t bring extra pressure. Similarly, the Buccaneers have played man coverage at an increasing rate over the past few weeks.

And Rattler has once again been far more effective here than when facing zone coverage.
SGP Build (32-1 on DraftKings)
- QB Spencer Rattler: 280+ passing yards and 32+ attempts
- New Orleans Saints: -4.5
Patriots QB Drake Maye finds WR Kayshon Boutte deep downfield
One area where we can expand on our matchup analysis with Maye is by focusing on the evidence of the Patriots’ explosive passing game — particularly through Kayshon Boutte.

Boutte has the deepest average depth of target on the Patriots and one of the highest in the NFL, serving as Maye’s premier deep threat. He’s also been among the league’s best on deep passes, earning the sixth-highest grade in that area.
If Maye can consistently connect with Boutte downfield — and with the expected passing volume against this pass-funnel defense — that’s the formula for Maye to finally surpass the 300-yard mark and for the Patriots to earn a statement win.
SGP Build (55-1 on DraftKings)
- QB Drake Maye: 300+ passing yards
- WR Kayshon Boutte: 80+ receiving yards
- New England Patriots: -6.5
Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze work through Baltimore’s secondary
The Ravens’ defense has struggled this season, ranking bottom-five in EPA allowed per play and bottom-10 in explosive-play rate, among several other poor defensive metrics.
Baltimore has also played one of the league’s highest rates of man coverage but lacks the personnel to match up effectively against Chicago’s wide receivers in man coverage.

Rome Odunze has been dominant against man coverage, posting one of the league’s best separation rates and averaging a strong 3.3 yards per route run in those situations.
The Bears have leaned heavily on the run in recent weeks, but if they turn to the air in this matchup, the passing success should flow through Odunze.
SGP Build (75-1 on DraftKings)
- QB Caleb Williams: 280+ passing yards
- WR Rome Odunze: 120+ receiving yards
- Chicago Bears: -6.5
