New York Giants (2-5) at Philadelphia Eagles (5-2) at 1:00 p.m. Sunday
The Line: Eagles minus-7.5/Total: 43.5
What is the line telling you:
The line on this game opened with the Eagles as 7.5-point favorites and a total set at 43.5, and so far, there hasn’t been much movement on either side. The bet splits across both U.S. and offshore markets show the Eagles drawing about 70% of the early action.
The last time these two teams met, the Giants were the healthier squad on both sides of the ball. This time around, however, Philadelphia enters the matchup with a +5 overall health advantage and an +11 health edge in pass defense, which could give Jalen Hurts plenty of opportunities to exploit a banged-up Giants secondary at Lincoln Financial Field.
Bottom line:
This sets up as a big revenge spot for the Eagles after getting boat-raced 34–17 by the Giants just two short weeks ago—a game where Philly lost the turnover battle 2–0.
There’s no doubt the Giants have improved with Jaxson Dart at quarterback, as shown by their recent win over Philly and a tough one-point loss to a Broncos team currently atop the AFC West. Still, laying 7.5 points against a divisional opponent is a lot in the NFL, especially with A.J. Brown dealing with a lingering hamstring injury (he’s missed practice this week). Instead of laying the full 7.5, we prefer a 7-point teaser: Eagles -0.5 coupled with the Houston Texans +5 against the San Francisco 49ers. This play gives us a strong edge while reducing exposure on a volatile spread.
Prop bets for the game:
Jalen Hurts Anytime TD (-140)
Devonta Smith Anytime TD (+185)
Dallas Goedert Anytime TD (+175)
