The start to the season for the Cincinnati Bengals has been a wild one. Starting off with a 2-0 record, it seemed like a chance for a deep playoff run was on the table if the defense got it all figured out. Then came the injury to Joe Burrow.
After the injury, things slid. Now insert Joe Flacco, an unlikely superstar for the Bengals’ offense for the last two weeks. Putting up some solid stats, and the defense starting to find its groove, things seemingly are looking up once again for the franchise as they head into the heart of the NFL season.
That begs the question: What will be their record come the end of the year?
That is a tricky one. Sitting at 3-4, the team has a very winnable game up next as the New York Jets come to town. After this, it starts to get much more difficult, as they run off three straight games against teams with winning records in the Bears, Steelers, and Patriots. That seems like the make-or-break point of this schedule for sure.
Win 2-to-3 games, and things will be heading in the right direction. Only win one, and things seem much bleaker for a playoff berth.
Going to be an interesting few weeks to follow. What do you think the Bengals’ record will be at the end of the season? Let us know in the poll and comments below!
