While the Las Vegas Raiders were pathetic in Week 7, let’s check in on a few old friends and see how Davante Adams, Josh Jacobs and Tre’von Moehrig performed on Sunday.
Davante Admas
- Game result: 35-7 Rams win
- Stats: 5 catches, 35 yards, 3 TDs
This was a bit of an odd game for Adams because he wasn’t the Los Angeles Rams’ leading receiver; tight end Colby Parkinson was with 47 yards, but Adams managed to have the third three-touchdown game of his career and his first since 2020. Not only did that help the Rams cruise to an easy win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Jaguars’ home away from home, London, but it also moved the wideout ahead of Mike Evans on the All-Time receiving touchdown list. Granted, Evans has a chance to match on Monday Night Football, but Adams is also just two scores behind Tony Gonzalez (111) for eighth all-time.
Josh Jacobs
- Game result: 27-23 Packers win
- Stats: 13 carries, 55 yards, 2 TDs
Jacobs didn’t get many touches on Sunday after being banged up and battling an illness during the week, but he made the ones he got count. This is his third two-touchdown game in a row, and all have come after his long touchdown streak ended. That gives him eight rushing scores on the year, two behind Jonathan Taylor (10) for the league lead through eight weeks, and Taylor has played in one more game. Jacobs is also up to 414 rushing yards on the campaign.
Tre’von Moehrig
- Game result: 13-6 Panthers win
- Stats: 6 tackles, 1 sack
This was a grind-it-out type of win for the Carolina Panthers, as they needed their defense to carry the load against the New York Jets. Moehrig answered the call by being one tackle off from the team lead and coming up with a sack. The safety had a tough start to the season but has settled in over the last few weeks. Through seven games, he ranks second on the Panthers with 46 tackles and first in tackles for loss with six. The latter leads all safeties.
