Who will win on Sunday? Our contributors make their NFL Week 3 winners picks.
Week 3 of the 2024 NFL season is here, and this afternoon, a full slate of Sunday games will be played. How will everything play out today? Our contributors are here to make their predictions.
Spotlighting the Miami Dolphins at Seattle Seahawks game, the oddmakers at FanDuel sportsbook have the Seahawks favored by a little more than the standard three-point homefield advantage line. Sitting at 4.5 points, the line would seem to reflect a 1-1 team coming off a bad loss in Week 2 and without their starting quarterback but who is expected to be a playoff contender this year visiting a 2-0 team with a first-year head coach looking to improve on a third-place finish in their division last year. Can Miami win, despite being listed as a 4.5-point underdog?
A closer look at the game as well as our picks for all the games are below.

There are so many questions about the Dolphins right now, especially regarding the offensive side of the ball. How well can quarterback Skylar Thompson control the offense? Who will step up to take some of the pressure off Thompson? Will Miami again stick with the short passes, at or behind the line of scrimmage, rather than push the ball down the field? Will the offensive line give Thompson the time to make any deep throws the team does attempt?
The good news for Miami is they have had ten days to get ready for this game. Coming off a Week 2 Thursday night game, the “mini-bye” should have given the team enough time to adjust the game plan for Thompson to start in place of the injured Tua Tagovailoa and for some chemistry to be built between the rest of the team and Thompson.
The extra days of recovery and preparation, plus a belief that the Dolphins are better than what we all saw against the Bills, has me thinking they can cover the spread.
Bet: Dolphins +4.5
Our season-long picks pool continues with this week’s straight-up winners predictions. I have included the Thursday night picks made earlier this week after not publishing the pick on Thursday – the picks were made before the game, but I did not have a chance to publish them.
Week 2’s predictions definitely felt like an early-season set of picks and proved to be a week we would all like to forget. Marek Brave won the week with an 8-8 record. James McKinney came in with a 7-9 performance while Sumeet Jena and Kevin Nogle were both 6-10.
Our 2024 season standings are:
James McKinney (21-11)
Marek Brave (19-13)
Kevin Nogle (17-15)
Sumeet Jena (16-16)
Hopefully this week’s predictions are better than that. You can check out each of our picks below. Any picks made against the spread can also be found in the widget provided by Tallysight.
