The New York Giants got good injury news before Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns. Following a strenuous pre-game workout, star edge defender Brian Burns is active. Burns had been questionable with a groin issue that surfaced on Friday.
The Giants elevated two players from the practice squad for Sunday’s game, linebacker Ty Summers and cornerback Art Green.
This is the third and final elevation in three games for Summers, a veteran special teamer. That means he will have to be added to their 53-man roster or passed through waivers to be returned to the practice squad.
Green, 24, spent last season the practice squad of the Denver Broncos. He was elevated to the active roster for the team’s final game of the season.
Former Giant running back Gary Brightwell was elevated from the Browns’ practice squad for the game.
