Odell Beckham Jr.’s lone season with the Miami Dolphins in 2024 was an abject failure on multiple levels. Signed to be an impact player as Miami’s third wide receiver, Beckham had just 9 catches on 18 targets for 55 yards and no scores in 9 games played. He was released in mid-December before the Dolphins’ season was over in an effort to join another team where his playing time would be increased. However, he remained unsigned through the end of the 2024 season.
Yesterday, in an interview with “The Pivot Podcast,” Beckham announced that he was accepting a six-game suspension from the National Football League for a positive performance-enhancing drugs test that occurred while he was a member of the Dolphins last year.
The soon-to-be 33-year old receiver insisted he didn’t knowingly take any banned substances, but was told by the league that his “testosterone levels are too high.”
Beckham — currently a free agent — will begin his six-game ban this week, and will be eligible to return to NFL action in Week 12. The receiver told the podcast hosts that he would be interested in playing for four teams: the Pittsburgh Steelers, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Rams and New York Giants.
He did not mention the Miami Dolphins as a club he’d like to return to.
