The Eagles didn’t practice on Monday, but they did release an estimated injury report and Saquon Barkley was a surprising inclusion. The RB wouldn’t have participated in practice due to knee soreness, but reports suggest it’s not something that will keep him out of Thursday night’s game against the Giants.
With a short week, the team is sure to take extra care of players bodies and give them rest as needed. It would likely take a whole lot more than soreness to keep Barkley off the field against his former team. Aside from wanting to contribute to the Eagles offense turning things around, undoubtedly the running back wants to be a big factor against the Giants.
The Eagles wasted no time preparing for the short week, and even had recovery stations set up in the locker room immediately following their loss to the Broncos on Sunday. Hopefully Barkley is able to feel well enough with a quick turnaround to be impactful on Thursday, and then take a mini-bye afterward to really recover.
