The New York Giants are willing to trade veteran backup quarterback Russell Wilson. They just are not picking up the phone and asking teams directly if they have interest in Wilson, deposed as the Giants starter by rookie Jaxson Dart.
This seems to be the crux of current reporting on the topic, most recently from Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports.

The Giants have not actively shopped Wilson since benching him in Week 4, sources say, but the league at large understands he could be dealt. The acquiring team would owe Wilson only the prorated portion of his $2 million base salary while giving up what sources believe would be a Day 3 draft pick.
New York is less likely to deal third string quarterback Jameis Winston after signing him to a two-year contract in the offseason.
That coincides with a report from Pro Football Talk earlier in the week that the Giants would be willing to move Wilson, but that they don’t appear willing to make the first move in any trade discussions.
