They’ll be on the roster for Sunday
Ahead of their Week 3 matchup with the Houston Texans, the Minnesota Vikings have elevated a pair of players to the main roster for the game.
The team has announced the elevation of tight end Robert Tonyan and outside linebacker Bo Richter to the active roster for this week. It is the first elevation of the season for both players.
Both of these elevations make sense given the fact that the team had to place Nick Muse on IR this week, leaving them with just two tight ends, and that Dallas Turner has been declared out for Sunday’s matchup.
Richter made quite a splash during the preseason after going undrafted out of the Air Force Academy. He had multiple sacks during the preseason and it came as a bit of a surprise that he didn’t make the active roster, but the team was able to get him moved to the practice squad. Tonyan looked to be a sure bet to make the squad in the early stages of the offseason but also wound up getting cut.
Obviously, we don’t know how much either of these players will actually play on Sunday, but they’ll be ready if they’re called upon.
