Random Ramsdom: Should Rams consider trading picks?

I don’t know who all follows the logic of Jerry Jones waiting to traded Micah Parsons right before the season, and his defense of the blockbuster move, but the Los Angeles Rams have picks, and if they wanted to trade for some stars now, they may be able to use those their dract capital for some moves.

Is that the smart thing to do, trade those high picks now? Probably not, but you never know when a superstar will become available, and we’ve all seen the Rams use that “‘forget’ dem picks strategy”.

What’s funny about Jones is that he said that draft picks are at their most valuable leading up to the draft (so why wait to trade Micah after that? Maybe I am misunderstanding what he meant?), but regardless that first round pick the Rams have from Atlanta may be worth a ton after their latest loss to the Caralina Panthers.

This is all speculation, but hey, we gotta come up with topics every day! This seemed like a fine topic for a good ole’ Random Ramsdom.

So, would you want the Rams to move their high picks at all for any reinforcement(s) now, or should they stay put?

I suppose this is a fluid situation.

Jerry Jones: Cowboys maximized Micah Parsons’ trade value by waiting (sports.yahoo.com)

“We needed this timing,” Jones said. “We needed to be right here at the beginning of the season in my mind to get the highest value. I heard people talking about, ‘Well, why didn’t you trade him back before the draft?’ Because draft picks become the most valuable timing wise, you can have them in the offseason before the draft. That’s when the pick becomes much more valuable and the player becomes less valuable.”

Jerry Jones Says He Would Trade Picks From Micah Parsons Deal for ‘Special’ Player (si.com)

“Well, of course, to use that capital, you’ve got to have the opportunity to use it. And frankly, no matter what I had seen in these first three ball games, if I had the opportunity to really do some good with those picks, I would do it. And we’ve got them, and that’s one of the advantages for, if you will, making the trade,” Jones said, via The Athletic’s Jon Machota.“

Indianapolis Colts injury report Week 4: Will Alec Pierce, Kenny Moore play vs. Los Angeles Rams? (indystar)

“The Indianapolis Colts visit the Los Angeles Rams in NFL Week 4 action, and the Colts are watching a couple of key players who suffered injuries in the second half of their Week 3 win: wide receiver Alec Pierce (concussion) and cornerback Kenny Moore (Achilles). A key starter on each side of the line also missed practice Wednesday, Sept. 24. Rams left guard Steve Avila (ankle) hasn’t played since Week 1.“
