The Miami Dolphins are not having the season people within the organization, as well as the team’s fanbase, hoped for. After losing 31-21 to the Buffalo Bills last Thursday night, the team fell to 0-3 to start the year.

Despite that loss, somehow the Dolphins climbed in the latest power rankings released by Mike Florio and his ProFootballTalk cronies yesterday. Miami had previously been ranked the worst team in the National Football League since before the season started, but after keeping it close against their division foes on Thursday Night Football, the Dolphins went from #32, all the way up to #30 — ranking just ahead of the New Orleans Saints (32) and the Tennessee Titans (31).

The Saints — also winless — dropped their latest game by a score of 44-13 to the Seattle Seahawks. The Titans — once again, also winless — fell to the Indianapolis Colts by a score of 41-20.

The Dolphins will have a chance to continue their power rankings ascension this Monday night when they host the New York Jets on Monday Night Football. The Jets could once again be without their starting quarterback, Justin Fields, as the young player remains out of action while dealing with lingering effects from a concussion suffered in Week Two against the Buffalo Bills.

If the Dolphins are to make a run with the hope of sniffing the playoffs in 2025, the team must start putting things together and stockpiling wins — starting with their Monday night clash against their bitter division rivals, the Jets.
