The Cincinnati Bengals travel to Minnesota this Sunday to take on the Vikings.
They will be doing so without Joe Burrow. Another player they will be without this week is Shemar Stewart. Stewart injured his ankle early in the fourth quarter against the Jaguars
Stewart is expected to miss at least a couple of weeks with the injury.
Myles Murphy
Myles Murphy will be asked to take on a larger role for the Bengals.
He has played under 30% of the snap share in the first two weeks of the season. I expect that number to increase dramatically. If Murphy can help to generate some pressure opposite of Trey Hendrickson, I like the Bengals’ chances to find a way to pull out another close victory.
Dylan Fairchild and Dalton Risner
The Minnesota Vikings have a talented trio of interior defensive linemen. Jalen Redmond is a returning player. Jonathan Allen and Javon Hargrave are new additions to the Minnesota defense. In Week 1, Allen and Hargrave combined for 13 pressures in a victory against the Bears. In Week 2, they were held to only 3 combined pressures.
It will be imperative that both Dylan Fairchild and Dalton Risner have quality games this week. Fairchild posted an impressive 84.9 pass blocking grade against Jacksonville.
Things were not quite as smooth for Dalton Risner against Jacksonville. His grade was only 45.3 in pass protection. He ended up on the ground far too often against the Jaguars. That cannot happen again this week if the Bengals are going to improve to 3-0 on the season.
