In many ways, the Philadelphia Eagles beating the Kansas City Chiefs in this spot would be unprecedented.
Patrick Mahomes has never lost three games in a row.
He has never started 0-2.
But it’s not like he’s the only one who rarely loses.
When Jalen Hurts starts and finishes the game, the Eagles are 15-0 in their last 15 games.
There’s a reason the Birds are favored in KC. The last time the Chiefs were home underdogs, they lost.
That game was a hard fought battle against the Buffalo Bills. And the Eagles can fully expect to get the Chiefs’ best effort in this one.
A much better effort than Philly saw in Super Bowl LIX.
Ultimately, though, the Eagles are the better team. Just like they were in that game.
They’re not as flawless as they once were.
But that they were able to beat the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1 without even needing any contribution from Jalen Carter and barely any from A.J. Brown points to them being even better when those guys do factor in.
Carter’s return will help to spark a pass rush that disrupts Mahomes once again.
Brown always goes off after a quiet game.
And the Chiefs keeping Saquon Barkley down again will be easier said than done.
The Eagles will grind their way to an impressive Week 2 victory with Jake Elliott kicking a game-winning field goal.
