The second Sunday of the 2025 NFL regular season is here!
Let’s run through a Philadelphia Eagles-focused rooting guide for all of the remaining Week 2 games.
EAGLES GAME
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES at KANSAS CITY CHIEFS: The Eagles will be 2-0 with a win. Go Birds.
NFC EAST
WASHINGTON COMMANDERS at GREEN BAY PACKERS: The old ass Commanders lost to the Packers on Thursday night. There’s a case to be made the Eagles should’ve wanted the Packers to lose since Green Bay could be a bigger obstacle to getting the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoff picture. But it’s a little early to be worrying about that much. Better to see a division threat get the loss. Commanders lost.
NEW YORK GIANTS at DALLAS COWBOYS: The Cowboys are clearly the bigger threat to the Eagles winning the NFC East. Seeing Dallas drop to 0-2 overall and in the division would be delicious. Root for the Giants.
DRAFT PICK WATCH
BUFFALO BILLS at NEW YORK JETS: Thanks to last year’s Haason Reddick trade, the Eagles own the Jets’ third-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. The more the Jets lose, the more favorable the pick will be for the Birds. Root for the Bills.
SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS at NEW ORLEANS SAINTS: Thanks to the Bryce Huff trade, the Eagles own the 49ers’ fifth-round pick (though it could reportedly elevate to a fourth-round pick if Huff gets at least eight sacks) in the 2026 NFL Draft. The more the 49ers lose, the more favorable the pick will be for the Birds. Also, San Fran is the bigger threat in the NFC playoff picture … especially since their schedule is ridiculously easy. Root for the Saints.
ATLANTA FALCONS at MINNESOTA VIKINGS: Thanks to the Sam Howell trade, the Eagles own the Vikings’ sixth-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. The more the Vikings lose, the more favorable the pick will be for the Birds. Also, the Eagles would rather see the Falcons win the NFC South than the Bucs. Then again, Minny winning the NFC North over Green Bay would be preferable. Root for the Falcons.
NFC PLAYOFF PICTURE
CHICAGO BEARS at DETROIT LIONS: The Lions struggled in Week 1 but they still could be a threat to the Eagles in the NFC. Much more than the Bears will ever be. Root for da Bears.
LOS ANGELES RAMS at TENNESSEE TITANS: AFC team over the NFC team that could threaten the Eagles. Root for the Titans.
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS at PITTSBURGH STEELERS: The Eagles want a non-49ers team to win the NFC East. And preferably a non-Rams team, too. Root for the Seahawks.
CAROLINA PANTHERS at ARIZONA CARDINALS: The Cardinals are the bigger threat in the NFC playoff picture. Root for the Panthers.
TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS at HOUSTON TEXANS: The Eagles would prefer the Bucs to not win the NFC South. Root for the Texans.
WHAT’S LEFT
DENVER BRONCOS at INDIANAPOLIS COLTS: The Eagles play the Broncos in Week 5. If the Eagles end up beating them, they’ll benefit from all of Denver’s other wins when it comes to the strength of victory tiebreaker. Root for the Broncos.
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS at MIAMI DOLPHINS: The Eagles want a non-Jets team to win the AFC East. But both of these teams might be bad.
CLEVELAND BROWNS at BALTIMORE RAVENS: No Eagles impact.
JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS at CINCINNATI BENGALS: No Eagles impact.
LOS ANGELES CHARGERS at LAS VEGAS RAIDERS: No Eagles impact.
