Random Ramsdom: Next week, we might need to talk about Tutu Atwell

It’s only been Week 1 of the NFL season, so let’s try to stay grounded, and let’s say what can be said and one thing that can be said is that Tutu Atwell didn’t compile too many stats last week. Now, he may have drawn coverage and helped the game in other ways, sure, but […]

It’s only been Week 1 of the NFL season, so let’s try to stay grounded, and let’s say what can be said and one thing that can be said is that Tutu Atwell didn’t compile too many stats last week. Now, he may have drawn coverage and helped the game in other ways, sure, but he didn’t move the needle against the Houston Texans as much as his other offensive counterparts. What does it mean? I don’t know.

A couple weeks ago, I had an article idea about if the Rams should trade Atwell, it wasn’t the strongest article so it stayed an idea, a draft, if you will, but here at Turf Show Times we do work behind the scenes as much as in front of the scenes, and one of our writers and editors gave me some stronger ideas for a more relevant Tutu Atwell article, but I say, let’s see what happens in Week 2.

I’ll be rooting for Atwell, though, whether Atwell has a great Week 2 or a poor Week 2, the idea of trading Atwell may catch on. It may not. Either way, I’m calling my shot, be prepared for folks to talk about Tutu Atwell next week one way or the other.

We have a Random Ramsdom Fandom at the bottom (Oh! It kind of relates to today’s Random Ramsdom, that was not intentional!). I will try and use those from the feed when I can, it will be a bit different than the OG Fanposts, but we’ll adapt with the times. Change can be good and all that.

Thanks for checking out Turf Show Times, and have a great Friday! We made it!

Rams Practice Report: Thursday Provides Promising Updates (si.com)

“Parkinson was also back on the practice field. We’ll have more on Friday. Davis Allen, who was listed as limited on Wednesday, was also on the field.

The Linebackers

Watching how Nate Landman and Omar Speights communicate is a treat. They cover all their Ps and Qs so when the question comes up on how the Rams maintained their strength in the box, it’s because not only are both men on the same page, it’s that they continue to work on their communication everyday and when push comes to shove, both men are hauling themselves to the point of the attack while maintaining gap integrity.“

Rams Sean McVay Gets Candid About His New Star Defender (si.com)

“I think just the command, the communication, obviously the productivity,” stated McVay. “When he has 10 tackles and then he makes a huge play. There are so many different things, especially when you’re the ‘green dot guy’ and you’re communicating, you’re making front adjustments, you’re communicating to the back end on certain things.”

“Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk moved the Los Angeles Rams up one spot to No. 10 after a 14-9 win over Houston, and the tape backs it up. Los Angeles handled the game with defense, field position, and a quarterback who played with poise. The Rams were underrated across the board from analysts, and they got the job done.

Let’s start with Chris Shula’s side.“
