We’ve got some big injury news ahead of the Cincinnati Bengals’ season-opening clash with the Cleveland Browns.
On Thursday, All-Pro defensive end Myles Garrett missed practice with a hip injury. This is seemingly an injury Garrett just suffered, as he was not listed on Wednesday’s injury report.
If Garrett is unable to go on Sunday, it would be a massive setback for the Browns’ defense, which has routinely stifled the Bengals’ offense with him in the lineup. He’s easily one of the best defenders and overall players in football, not to mention far and away Cleveland’s best player.
Garrett has also been an iron man when it comes to durability, rarely missing games (when he’s not trying to bash players’ heads in).
How much Garrett does on Friday will go a long way in determining if he’s able to play Sunday. But for now, I’d anticipate him playing until the Browns say otherwise.
And now, NFL reporter Cameron Wolfe says Garrett is expected to play.
Not much concern for Myles Garrett availability Sunday vs. Bengals despite missing practice with hip injury, source tells me.
Garrett is an Ironman. This is relatively normal for him. https://t.co/cVKE4uHn2a
